Best sounding stage

One for the audio geeks. What stage has the best sound?

In my opinion it's Holts

Spirit of 71 is ace as well with the surround sound F1

I always seem to enjoy stuff on the Avalon more than any other stage. I'm not sure how big a part sound quality has to play in this, but they always seem to massively over run setting up each act, continuing to go back and tweak instruments and check levels for ever and ever and ever. Possibly due to the fact that they have a lot of multi-instrumentalists on there so there is naturally a lot to set up, but I get the impression they are quite finicky about making sure everything is just right.

Anywhere but the John Peel. The sound there is possibly the worst I've heard at any gig. It's as though a vacuum is sucking in the sound from around you, leaving a hollow, bassy mess full of delayed sounds bouncing from the roof. I miss certain bands just because of the fact they're playing in John Peel rather than somewhere else. worst venue at Glastonbury soundwise.

The sound at the Pyramid can be surprisingly spot on if the weather conditions are right and you're in the right spot

Yes smaller doesn't mean worse sound. As mentioned the weather pants a huge part on the big outdoor stages

    • Wednesday is a nice addition imo
    • Kronenberg in a tent as well IIRC but Brooklyn Pilsner was easier to get without queueing and was everywhere across the festival.
    • I think they'll end up doing something due to pressure and bad PR. Maybe they do a discount code for next year or bar credit or something along those lines.    I agree though. I acknowledge that the lineup is huge but surely you can't cancel 33% of the headliners and not reimburse in some way. Their insurance will probably cover their fees for MA, Doja, Bad Gyal and Mac DeMarco due to force majeure.
    • Looks like nothing for weekend ticket holders. You'd expect a goodwill gesture.
    • Enough has been covered about how much of a sh*t show that was, so I'll just say, Massive Attack and it's relationship with this festival (and potentially me) are f**king cursed.    They were announced in 2020 when I first got excited about seeing them. They were subsequently on the poster for 21, 22 and now 26. This time I was in actually in the crowd close to the stage waiting for them twice haha. I give up!
