Pennards Hill

I know someone who describes Pennards as The Jasmine Allen Estate.

(For the younger folks or those who don't watch crap soaps, 'The Jasmine Allen Estate' was the name given to a fictional troublesome inner-city council estate in the TV programme 'The Bill')

Change sucks. There is a joy in finding the perfect spot for the balance of things your group tend to do. Fairly sure our spot isn't all that useful to other people if you could kindly all leave it clear....

I reckon there's a bit of extra tension after the rather odd order people got in last year with the queue jumping etc, hopefully it'll run more smoothly this time

Pennards is bloody handy and once was a great place for those who realised it.

Problem is the "secret" got out and now it's overcrowded.

We are going there again this year though *sighs* as I have failed in my mission to bring everyone to Park Home.

Walking through Pennards is like walking through a shanty town on the outskirts of a third world capital city, actually thats probably insulting to third world shanty towns

There's certainly a whiff of tactical comments, dispelling the popularity, warning people from trying pennards.

The tension is apparent regarding crew camping expansion, camplight, bigger queues at gate due to early car parks etc but it will still have all sorts on it just like all campsites, it's wrong to stereotype pennards campers because it's popular & you may not get on it or prefer somewhere else.

One look at the map would tell anybody new its a great spot for many reasons, don't be put off & like others have said you could avoid one area fearing idiots & find yourself next to some in an other.

Location Location Location....simples

Enjoy the festival everyone wherever you end up camping

Ach I'm not trying to be tactical, not planning on camping there - but it lost it's amazing atmosphere almost a decade ago.

I can understand the legend tho. My first year Pennards was hopping. With relatively limited late night options the campsites were much more alive and full of music and drums. There were larger bonfire circles and fire pits in relaxed large campsites. Wasn't like that by '05.

So yeah it's no nightmare necessarily, just a busy campsite now
