We don't have any info yet of who's playing the thursday or simply what this launch party is all about?

They're going to keep it low key - the risk of crushes and chaos is way too high with almost all the punters on-site and only a fraction of the crowd-absorbing stages running

Some form of Indie Disco would completely make sense. Would take a bit of pressure off of Baggy Mondays in the Stonebridge Bar.

i think the fact they have released nothing about it at this stage suggests that at least in part there will be someone of note playing that they arent going to announce due to the fact it would make it stupidly rammed.

not that they would even normally too big for the tent, but as there is basically nothing to clash with it, if say an act was on at 6/7pm then there could be carnage.

They have been warned about mass gatherings in unsuitable spaces a la the park special guests.

hi. this is my fifth year at glasto I love some of the names on the line up for Williams green. Where would a simpleton like me be able to find this place? (p.s I have never been to the queens head in the past or know where it is)

From pyramid head towards the acoustic field, through top row of stalls there is a square with seating and a big video screen. this i williams field and info point , and up to now the leftfield tower. Tent is nearby

The William's Green Launch Party with live bands from 20:00 with DJs including The Queens of Noize, Voguettes, Buttoned Down Disco and, from 16:00 musical bingo.

It's been bands in the past and has always been rammed. No chance of getting in the tent even for the little bands, there is zero chance it'll be the Vaccines or Bastille, too popular, god only knows how but that's a different thread.

It's asking for trouble if it is anyone with even an album release.

Django have now deleted the comment, so you would assume they want to keep the acts that are playing very quiet until Thursday.

Yep the comment is gone now. Chuffed they are doing a set on the Thursday, I wouldn't be able to make it to their set at the park as it's clash central.
