To answer the original question - no direct experience but I'd assume it's not worth the effort. Without a network of repeaters to back it up (which the professional grade systems the festival use will have) then your range is going to be limited. You're also likely to run into other traffic - while you'll be on different frequencies to the main Festival radio systems, you almost certainly wouldn't be the only person using the public / unlicensed bands. For example I'd expect that probably a decent number of traders will have their own radios for operational reasons and they won't be bothered to fork out for a pro-grade system and/or the use of licenced frequencies. Obviously systems out there can vary, and there's no rules saying that festivals need to encrypt, or that they can't use public frequencies. But I'm pretty sure Glastonbury don't cheap out on this.

This. I'm thinking 2008, not 2016. There will be muddy wet days that will dry up quickly in between with wind / sunny intervals and at least some chance of sitting down for a beer at some point on the ground.

After being back at work 3 days my very belated highlights this year are: 1. Mitski in the storm. It felt very special 2. Obongjayar, it was a really fun dance, ending with the gorgeous I wish it was me 3. Nala Sinephro, I found this set really emotional, it was stunning 4. Pulp, saw them in Sheffield last year and they were so much fun again 5. Justice great light show, artist I had kindof forgotten about but I loved them when I was younger, show did not disappoint 6. Barry Can't Swim a really happy party 7. PJ Harvey in the rain - I'm not too familiar with her music but she was mesmerising and the crowd were really engaged 8. The National (Cuitat) 9. Angeles, Victor, Gloria and Javier - electronic flamenco, something really different for me and I loved it 10. Badbadnotgood great energy Cupra remains my favourite stage. The sound bleeds were most frustrating when getting water and things between Amazon and Cupra, couldn't vibe with anything, but had no issues with sound when I went to watch something specific. I also didn't bother with any of the queue-for stages, too much effort. Saw acts from all 6 continents, love the commitment to diversity, and always lovely to visit Barcelona. Bring on next year

They should have a Bob Mortimer themed bar. Just because he's brilliant, isn't he?, and it'd be a really fun bar. Hopefully he could get an invite too and hang around in there with everyone for a bit.
