To be fair he was skint but didn't want to miss out and it would still be a good time even without seeing bands. It was also in the days of plastic wristbands which were quite easy to take on and off to get others into the arena.

Selling it cheap is a fine compromise between being generous and asking for what you deserve.

I'd entered a few competitions before getting through in the resale. If any of them turn out to be winners, I'd probably sell the ticket at full price, as I know that anyone on here who doesn't have a ticket would be chomping at the bit to get a face value ticket now (and probably was during the original sale). As Bathimp said, I'd give the money to Oxfam/WaterAid/Greenpeace. What could be more in the spirit of Glastonbury than that?

I'd say sell it for 2x/3x the face value and put all the money you get for it behind the bar at the cider bus!

That'll make a lot of random people happy as they go to grab a drink, it will make you happy as you did a good thing, and it'll make some rich person without a ticket happy as they'll get to go to the festival

this is really nice offering a fellow efester the chance to go, and 50 quid is really generous. Good karma in the pot for you . Have a brilliant festival.

'cause it's a competition ticket that was free?

If both parties are happy with the agreement then that's all that matters in this situation. On the more general issue of selling tickets on at a profit, it's not something that I'm happy with or would participate in

Very nice of you to do this.

I entered every competition going before I got my ticket and tbh I assumed that because names and postcodes were reference number linked if you bought a ticket and then won you wouldn't be eligible and they would draw again as it were.

Obviously it doesn't work that way, though how the system allows 2 tickets to be issued to one person I don't know.

This could mean good news for someone here though because if I win one (unlikely but you never know) I'll be doing something similar.

What a decent and generous thing to do OP. The fact you have offered to an efester (who would love it) above mates (who are less bothered) speaks volumes of your character! I hope it all works out for you and Badger. Keep us informed....If they refuse - hey, they will just redraw and another lucky person gets a golden ticket.

    • Never too early to start discussing next year’s headliners right?   I’m not attending this year so thought I’d get the ball rolling as I saw Weezer have a new album out in August I’d expect them to do this or Slam Dunk next year. I mean they’re probably too big for this however I think they’re niche enough that they would maybe do it, it just depends on if the fee is a bit out of range for trees.    It’ll be the 20th anniversary next year so I’d expect some throwbacks and hopefully some big headliners/acts. James has already said he’s made a mad booking that you wouldn’t guess & I think he mentioned that he’s spent something like 80% of this years budget of next years top line already on last weeks 2 promoters 1 pod (Don’t quote me on that).    I reckon they’ll try for and get at least two (not all) of the following - Enter Shikari, AFI, Weezer, Sex Pistols Feat Frank Carter, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls
    • for some reason last night watched series one of Prey on Netflix.   if Legends was written by Timmy Mallet (see above) then Prey seems to have been made by Mr Blobby.   why are all these British crime dramas so sh*t?
    • It'll be all over various Seatfillers based upon previous years at Sandringham
    • The Jayhawks 2026 UK Tour    Sept 15 – Brighton – Corn Exchange  Sept 16 – London – Electric Ballroom Sept 17 – Manchester – Academy 2 Sept 18 – Glasgow – The Garage    For you ‘americana’ lovers. They have a great song book.
    • Weezer just announced a new album & US tour so could add them to the headliner pool. Imagine they’ll do this or trees
