Surely you need those extra tall fluted glasses to drink the Chateau Worthy out of as well!

perhaps i am not so jealous after all.

seriously you have all of Tuesday evening to get your smuggling done

wish i could be a fly on the wall while this pseudo sophisticated campsite descends into mayhem as much as the rest of the festival

Interested to hear how having no hands/arms falls into 'having mobility issues'. It is poorly worded whichever way you read it, surprised its been sent out with no proofing. Anyway off topic sorry.

There are just so many things I want to do or see at Glastonbury that I never get round to. But my time there is still crammed full of things that are special moments You might have to put drinking a glass of champaign with your mates, as one of those wanted to do but didn't list and I am sure when it is all done you won't have missed it. I believe Worthy View has a communal campfire, so instead why don't you and your mates come over to it, crack open a can of whatever is your tipple (mine is a can of Koppaburg) and enjoy it with the rest of us there on the Tuesday night. I am sure with the festival due to open the next morning and the company eagerly anticipating it, the atmosphere created will make your can of whatever better than any old bottle of champaign.

And to make it even better you could always share out your caviar ;)

I think you're getting unnecessarily offended on other people's behalf. Should airlines stop referring to "carry-on luggage"? Should we stop calling buggies "pushchairs"?

You're clearly a bit miffed at the rule, but calling it discriminatory is a pretty ridiculous way to try and make your argument.

Anyone staying in WV, had the email today and notice this statement:

"If you intend to bring alcohol to Worthy View then you will only be allowed to bring a

reasonable quantity for personal consumption into the site (no more than you can

carry in your hands on your first arrival to the campsite).

Spirits and glass bottles are not permitted."

Now obviously the glass thing is a given, but seriously, no spirits??? Unless it's a typo and it should read spirits IN glass bottles. And only being allowed in what one can carry in your hands on the first trip into camp? Along with all the rest of your gear, for 5 days of boozing?? They've got to be having a laugh surely.....

Not too sure how they are going to police the no spirits rule. Where there's a will there's a way. I managed to bring about 7 litres worth of red wine in to Secret Garden Party last year wherease only 2 litres were allowed (if memory serves me right). I got stopped and searched too but they couldn't see what was in front of them. My mate used my method to get his vodka in and actually came home still in possession of 1 litre of the stuff, having taken 4 litres in (and spirits weren't allowed at all) and being checked even more thoroughly than I was.

We're planning to take 500ml bottles of (fire) water which can be mixed with a nice fresh cold soft drinks bought on site. If they really have a no spirits policy and plan on enforcing it even for drinks that have been decanted into plastic bottles, is it possible to get from the car to the festival bypassing this ridiculous policy and everyone who might try to enforce it?

If not, do you think it would be wise to give the drinks to an Aryan friend?
