I'm quite happy with the timetable for Thursday, can see most of what I want, apart from a few crossovers where I'll have to settle for half a set.

Deerhunter/The Postal Service is a killer though, but Deerhunter are playing Sala Apollo on the Sunday evening so will try to get to that instead!

3 weeks and 4 days to go...!

Nearly every band I want to see on Thursday clashes with another I want to see by the looks of it. Deerhunter/The Postal Service clash is a ridiculously tough decision

Anybody know how long it takes to walk between stages? Particularly between the Heineken and Primavera stages. Looks like I'm going to be rushing between stages quite a bit

The site isn't that big at all, but the Heineken stage is at the furthest edge of the site, I'd say when it's busy walking from there to the Primavera stage will take about 15-20 mins tops, although a couple of years back when I was walking towards that stage for The National the place was seriously packed, there are only 2 or 3 entry points at that area which at busy times can cause a bit of a delay.

Here is a link to the leaked map for this year (not officially announced yet, but someone put it on the Primavera Sound forum)

The mini stations appear to be out of bounds, I've no idea what they are, maybe some sort of emegency route or vip route or something. No idea though.

Yeh looks like a ferris wheel, there isn't usually things like that there, so again no idea what it will actually involve.

That whole side of the site is going to be odd, the last 2 years only one large stage was there where the Heineken one is now, I just can't get it in my head how 2 stages will work in that same space as it's a big area, but not that big, unless the physical layout has changed more than the map suggests.

Also I'm a little worried by the proximity of the Pitchfork and Vice stages, that was trialled last year and in my opinion they awere/are just too close together!

Ah well, still can't wait!

I've just read on a couple of other forums it's some sort of mini shuttle bus but that sounds pretty stupid and pointless to me

Cool thanks for the info. Really hope they've solved that problem and that the sound from the ATP stage doesn't ruin the Heineken stage and vice versa

Friday times are up on the website now. Clashes aren't quite as bad as Thursdays are for me, only big one is choosing between The Breeders and Solange. How To Dress Well and Titus Andronicus clashing with Blur and The Knife is a bit annoying but there is no way I'm missing Blur or The Knife for anything

The damage they talk about though is financially to the festival, they will struggle to make a profit this year (compared to previous years at least) with the new taxes in the country.

Already this year we have seen the removal of the Wed/Sun gigs happening around the city, the last two editions they have been at Arc d'triomph and Poble Espanyol, 2 really cool places, but I guess the outlay for this is now unreasonable and therefore these gigs will happen at the festival site instead (which is fine, but takes a bit of the charm away)

Clashes on the Saturday are a bit worse for me, but I'm not overly worried about them, 3 weeks today I will have arrived in Barcelona and be about to get the first Estrealla Damm opened!

Can't remember exactly either, think it was around 4 euros for a 0.5l beer maybe? If i recall the 1l ones were form the mobile beer dispenser guys, so maybe thats why it was so expensive?

On the other hand the spirits are roughly the same price but they free pour them, so you get a strong as heck rum with a wee bit of coke in it for a decent price!

"On Wednesday 22nd May there will be a surprise concert at the Apolo of Barcelona by a band whose identity will only be revealed to the audience at 10 pm when the concert starts. To get into this secret show it is not necessary to have a full festival ticket but it is necessary to make a reservation which you can do now here, at no cost and until full capacity of the venue is reached.

The holders of the VIP full festival tickets have 500 tickets to make their reservations through the Primavera Sound Portal."

Sounds interesting, but when you click the link it doesn't have anywhere to reserve a spot?? Reckon the chances of getting in without reservation are high?

i was lucky and managed to snag 2 tickets to the "secret" gig. they went on tuesday afternoon, quite fast.

its supposed to be a band big in the 90s, my guess is suede

you wont get in without a reservation, but the venue might be emptied out after so theres a chance of seeing the rest of the bands playing the apolo on the wednesday from midnight onwards

Suede is a decent shout, are they not playing the Portuguese leg of Primavera as well?

it could well be Blur...

I don't have a spot for this and can't be bothered with a no doubt huge queue to maybe get in, so I think I'll settle for Delorean at the Forum that night then a few boozers after!

If we could get that temperature without the rain I would be happy. Was exhausted last year from the heat (which was in the 30s most of the time). It would be cool if we got some fog too. That happened before in 2008 and the venue looked like a sci-fi film.
