Remembering Joe Strummer - 10 Years Today

Been a bit busy this past week so I've not been on here much, but I made a special effort to come on this evening to add my thoughts to the thread that I was convinced would have been started by someone to recognise the 10th anniversary of Joe's passing, only to find that nobody has. So here it is.

I was privileged enough to see Joe play with The Clash on 10th Feb 1980; it had a profound influence on me musically and I will never forget it.

R.I.P. Joe, looking forward to visiting Strummerville again in 2013.

unluckily for me i was too young to see The Clash, but i did see the Mescaleros on the Pyramid in '99, and have since seen Jones and Simonon perform at Glastonbury too. that's as close as i'll get

I saw the Clash at Brixton Academy (or whatever it was called then) in 1982 - like MR777, it was a profound experience and the Clash have always been probably my favourite band

a couple of years ago I was to the Proud Galleries in Camden for the launch of Billy Bragg's Jail Guitar Doors film, Breaking Rocks. The highlight of the night was seeing Mick Jones and Wayne Kramer on stage together doing Kick out the Jams and Jail Guitar Doors...

I was fortunate enough to see the Clash twice, at Leeds University in 1979 and 1980 (I think), and they are still lodged firmly in my memory.

Strummerville is always on my must-do list for Glastonbury.
