BUDDY

 

The drummer's drummer.  I saw him at the Colston Hall in Bristol (now renamed after the statue incident) many years ago and he was astonishing.  At the end of the first half he took requests and the whole of the second half was based on them.  He was chatting to the audience and there was a young boy in the front row.  Buddy asked him if he played the drums and the kid replied: "A bit."

At the end of his show-closing mega drum solo Buddy was knackered and someone in the audience shouted out: "One more time!"

Buddy went over to the kid in the front and asked: "Do you want to come up and play your bit now?"
