Ferry Crossings

Hi, had the transport booked for ages and just looked back at it now.

Going to portsmouth harbour by train, so whats the best ferry crossing to take by foot baring in mind that we need a shuttle bus on the other side (So not fishbourne). Could also do with it being cheap.

Hey dude - This is my first time at bestival so i might not be the best person to take advice from but we are taking the Wightlink to Ryde, we booked ours about a month ago though

I would go to Fishbourne and get a taxi rather than a Shuttle Bus the other end, as long as there is two or more of you it should work out to be not much more.

This way there is far less queing which is always nice.

Taxi journey to the drop off point is 10-15 minutes and think it cost us about £18 approx in total.

Remember if travelling as a foot passenger on the train through Portsmouth (Portsmouth Harbour station) to buy your train ticket to Ryde Pier so you can use the ferry to get across. No need to book.

Im going on the car ferry but not actually going in a car so yeah i will be going to west then are there shuttle busses at both? east and west? or just east

No the car ferry goes to East Cowes, and yeah there is shuttle buses from both ports in Cowes

I'm getting a lift with some people going from Southampton port. Is it the case that the ferry companies just put cars on 1st come 1st served or will you get on the one you booked for?

Coming back Mon 8.30am crossing (might be a struggle for me getting up at 6.30am! ) - ferry port usually pretty quiet then?
