I've seen Deadmau5 3 times now and thought his Rockness set was poor. Barrowlands was the best. His helmet is cool though. I like the cat face with the eyes getting bigger and smaller lol.

I seen him in Edinburgh 6 years ago at the liquid rooms, have to say...I enjoyed that more. Mostly the same tracks, give or take a few. Perhaps it was because he was less known back then, things were a lot more intimate and all that!

Tbh I get what he means when he talks about the big live shows and the production, but its his attitude that gets to me. Pressing play might be what he does but I'm sure its not true of everyone. He seams to think he is the defenition of dance music.

Far better read on the reality of new shows. read this a while ago, explains fatboys issues and getting pressured into keeping up with the show.

well, sort of, I think it was originally released as 'Progen' in hmm, 1990?, but re-released as 'Move any Mountain' a year or so later

My copy of Progen says 1990, so good guess. :)

I said "It's only called 'Move Any Mountain' on the radio when played at kids who don't like dance music", because anyone who liked dance music back then would have surely heard it before it was retitled "move any mountain" and played loads on the radio.

and it was the beginning of the end for the Shamen, I think. I loved 'In Gorbachev we trust' and all of that. Saw them in 89-90 somewhere in Canterbury and they were fucking ace. This is all before Mr C (and I think we all know what the 'C' stands for) started shitting all over the music.

nah, the end of The Shamen was one of them dying in a swimming accident or something.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
