Yeah the Kyuss thing is a bit of a mess. Basically Garcia/Brant or their management made a grab for the rights to the name and everything Kyuss...they also decided they wanted to record a new album as Kyuss, and I think at that point Josh got a bit offended, he supported them touring the stuff to an extent but I don't think he'd be happy with them making new material as he'd always said he didn't want to ruin the legacy hence he'd have no part in reunions. Oddly enough Kyuss had been using Scott Reeder as bassist when Oliveri couldn't do it, Reeder being the other Kyuss bassist from the past, but the lawsuit is actually Josh and Scott VS John Garcia and Brant, so he's actually on Josh's side of it and has effectively distanced himself from Kyuss Lives. Nick Oliveri also distanced himself from it in a recent interview too saying he didn't want to be a part of it anymore - although it was always unlikely he'd be travelling anyways as he's due in court for his SWAT team standoff recently.

So basically with all the legal stuff going down, they'd need to change their name (probably) and draft in a bassist who had nothing to do with Kyuss which waters it down even more. But with a big court battle about to hit, I can't see them going ahead with the tour. I'd love to be wrong, but it's very unlikely imo. Kinda like in 2009 when Fear Factory were being sued off of ex-band mates over the name, and that wasn't even as in-depth as all this yet it still caused them to cancel a big tour.

Gallows have put up on their facebook that they're playing Friday, could be just a holding date, but they have a Germany date on Saturday, so I think they are Friday.

They could I guess fit in somewhere on Second Stage that day, theres 8 acts announced so far, but I reckon they're subbing on 3rd stage, would be a nice alternative to Chase n Status and Nightwish

What's all this I'm hearing about Skindred playing Download?!

Edit: not sure if I'm late to the party, or first to notice, but AC has just announced: Lawnmower Deth, No Americana, Silent Descent, Six Hour Sundown, Skindred and The Union

    • 1 - Mock Media - Rat Bastard 2 - Maquina - Body Transmission 3 - Mary in the Junkyard - Role Model Hermit   Honourable mentions to The Hu - Hun, Madonna - Confessions II, and Swapmeet - Mount Zero for also being solid.   Sadly, really didn't connect with the new Yard Act, a real shame as loved their last two albums and thought this one would be a shoe-in for AOTM, but felt it was a bit too generic..
