3rd Headliner?

I absolutely see what you are saying... it's never actually come into my head about Mumford headlining but they are big enough... I don't think it will happen but then I just don't think Mumford will play Reading.. it'll be interesting to see if they can maintain their popularity. Anyway I see them headlining second stage at V this year and then either subbing or headlining the other at Glastonbury next year,

I was just abou to say SOAD.

I think it will be. They are still active playing soundwave in australia in the next couple of weeks. But we will see. It's what I'm hoping for, and to me more logical than Linkin park again.

Class at download last year and would ensure my ticket to Leeds this.

If screaming Flo isn't announced for V tomorrow - she might be, but at this moment in time I'm far from convinced she will - then (if she's not announced for V) I'm gonna plump for her as R/L's 3rd headliner this year.

That is worrying. As you say it's only a guess but your guess will be far more educated than most on here. It would put me in a real dilemma over which festival to go to. While there is more to a festival than the headliners I don't know if I could justify 400 squids on a pair of tickets to see her and two acts I have already seen before headline.

He did say in the V forum just now that he thinks she'll be below The Stone Roses, so I'm clinging onto that hope.

I didn't say I think she'll be below the roses, I merely said that's my best guess.

She might be at V, but if she's not there's a more than decent chance she'll be at Reading - and perhaps as headliner.

Then again, lots of people think she might be a Bestival headliner. I don't rule that one out either.

It would be a bold move and would open up the door for all sorts of Pop headliners in the future. It's brave in that sense, but she'd be very popular booking I'd expect, even if I'd probably be as far from the main stage as possible.

in the last ten years (and probably going much further back) it's had stacks of pop headliners anyway. It really wouldn't be the huge shift you're seeing it as.

And I've been saying for a long time that its future is that way, because the existence of Download (owned ultimately by the same company) means that R/L will not be permitted to compete against it on too much of a level.

I doubt it'll be an act in the rockier direction, so I think unlikely.

If FATM headline then that is very weak, plus it completely abolishes a lot of people's theory about having only one new headliner every year. I'd prefer Bloc Party to do (and I don't even like Bloc Party). If this was the case then the undercard below FATM would have to be very strong.

Bloc Party have announced comeback festivals in Sweden and Germany For June And July. Possibly Uk Exclusive For Reading ?
