Sorry ... but why would Soni have to offer him anything? surely he wouldn't be suitable for Soni?

I'm happy to have some random discussions of possible acts but surely not this? Yes, he subbed glasto and could do the same at R&L but i can't see him at soni.

However i do agree with the idea that one of the headliners could be something leftfield and unexpected .... christ knows who though! Personally i'd be up for 'local boys done good' Enter Shikari who've just got a No.1 album .... but can't see that happening either!

Biffy Clyro are a ROCK group, who have played at numerous rock and metal festivals. Dizzee Rascal is a Grime artist. He would not fit in to headline Soni. Festivals like Glasto and Reading cover a wider range of genres and artists. You can't compare their motives and audience to Soni.

so what you're saying is this.... that the often claimed open mindedness of rockers is a myth?

No, definitely not Haha :) I'm just saying that in a year when Soni's main competetor DL have announced.such a strong lineup so far, I think it'd be a bit of a gamble to have Dizzee headlining. I just can not see it at all, I will eat my shoes if its true :P where has this talk come from anyway? It just aint gunna happen.

I just find it hard to believe that after all of the people being rumoured, Van Halen, Kiss, Rage, Green Day, Blink, Rammstein etc, that its going to be Dizzee. Don't get me wrong, I've been to his tour and he is sick live, deffo one of the best I've ever seen. But I really don't think he will be headlining Soni.

Fuck all that "diversity" bollocks, if I am going to a rock/metal festival, and I pay my money - I want rock/metal. there are certain bands that I agree can crossover like prodigy, and to some degree (even though I dont like them) pendulum.

I like rock/metal, nothing moves me like a good riff, a great powerchord or beatdown. I dont like dance, I dont like garage, i dont fucking like grime, and I know I dont, I dont choose to listen to it ANYTIME, so why force them on me at a festival I have looked forward to all year and call me closed minded when I choose to air my opinion.

yeah, put dizzee low down somewhere, but dont take away a headline slot of a great rock/metal band to put him there.

when cannibal corpse headline creamfields, I might be forced to change my opinion. when fans of other genres start to "tolerate" rock and metal, then you can criticise me.

    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
    • Norwich times if anyone is interested
