Is anyone considering football olympic tickets. On this issue I am a complete hypocrtie. I dont think football should be in the olympics and Im against welsh players being in team GB. However the opportunity to see Brazil is very appealing, Im thinking of Brazil v belarus at old trafford.

For anyone in favour of the away goal ruling, please explain this to me, how is it fair that Madrid had the away goal advantage for 90 minutes, yet Munich are going to have it for 120 minutes. Such a stupid rule.

I've said that I'm not sure of its fairness in ET. I think it should end after the two nineties.

Although at the same time... how is it fair a team get an extra 30 minutes at home?

I'm convinced home advantage matters far less than 1 goal vs 2 goal advantage.

To me having home advantage for extra time is just luck of the draw. Its not fair but some may say its not fair that milan drew barca while madrid drew nicosia, its random and you have as much chance of benefiting as not. The away goal rule engineers a result when there isnt one, to me its no different to giving the side with the most posession or the most corners the result in a tied game. i dont agree with the idea that both clubs know the rule at the start to justify it. Football league clubs know the new screwed up rules that the premiership clubs have made so they can get young talent on the cheap, just because they know the rule doesnt make it fair.

The one against Kaka was PHENOMENAL though. Kaka got more power behind it and Neuer adjusted last minute.

Of course its completely different but my point is just because something is a rule and clubs have signed up to it, it doesnt necessarily mean its fair.

It must be rare to have both teams in the champions league final who neither entered the tournament as champions of their domestic leagues, or finished the tournament as domestic champions. I think it was the case in both liverpool v milan finals but cant imagine its happened that often. No doubt my memory is failing and its actually happened a lot!
