I quite like listening to the festival radio as I'm getting myself together in the mornings...

well I did, until this year. I liked it's rather amateurish way in the past. I liked hearing the cock-ups... I liked the periods of silence while they tried to work out what they were doing... I liked it's sense of humour

this year, it seemed like it was in a competition to find the slickest, most professional (ie, like Radio 1 !) station going. It sounded like everything I'm glad to leave behind when I'm at Glastonbury... The stupid attempts at humour ... "ooh, I know, let's see if we can start a totally unfounded and poitless rumour about someone... you say you've seen Bob Dylans flight case back-stage.. that'll be a real hoot"... the annoying jingles (10 things you didn't know about Coldplay  followed by another stupid joke). I stopped listening after a couple of mornings, it was reminding me of too many things I like to forget about

Listened to it most mornings. It was awful yet enjoyable. It was just so cringeworthy.

Did anyone hear that song "The King Has Lost His Hat"? they seemed to play it at least twice every morning. The song basically summed up Worthy FM for me, f**king awful but strangely entertaining.

Had it on most mornings when having breakfast, listened for a few hours a day to be honest. There was some annoying stuff (trailing a Bono interview for example, was never going to be real) but the music played more than made up for it. Loved Daddy Teacha's show, caught that the odd evening whilst winding down.

Like last couple of years, useless.

When it was Radio Avalon (2005?) and in its first year as Worthy FM (2007?), I am waking up in the moring I would switch it on and hear sessions from bands that would be on later in the day (especially smaller stages), updates on time and changes to the line ups etc.

That was useful and enjoyable (if a bit shambolic).

This year, mid to late morning (when everyone is getting up) childrens slot!!!

Listened to it a bit on the first two days, but other than that it was Adam and Joe on 6music all the way.

In answer to my own question before the festival, the site does seem to have very decent DAB coverage.

As someone who works on Worthy FM, this is immensely useful stuff, so do keep it coming, criticism and all!

I can explain why some of the things being mentioned are as they are later too, but for now, criticise away! :)

I enjoyed listening to Worthy FM first thing in the morning and last thing at night before going to sleep. Glad to have it around.

I take my little radio every year and like to listen to Worthy FM, & have the following observations to make;

1. Morning slot needs to have news and information every half hour, with greater info on the hour.

i.) In-depth weather forcast

ii.) News from around the site

iii.) Read out the newspaper headlines.

iv.) A little bit more news from the outside world.

2. More interviews with non-musicains, eg. performers from the circus zone, man who sucks the poo from the porta loo's, a stall holder, a food vendor.

3. Useful trivia facts, how much sewage, how many burgers, how many arrested etc.

4. Interview with some old timer glasto goers waffling on about by gone days.

5. Sound bits from festival go'ers up in stone circle or just after a big band.

6. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL

When you give the number to text in, do it slowly and two or three times in succession, otherwise you never have time to get a pen and paper or your mobile ready to record the number.

:D

I listen to it every year when back at camp, on the way in and on the way out, bring a small radio for that purpose.

I must say this is the first year I shouted to the mate "christ! turn that shite off and put something else on" :O

It seemed to have no bearing on where I was "Glastonbury Festival", the music being played was awful and all I seemed to hear was "yesterdays news", on the way out Monday if I heard another mention of that guy "Satan" I was going to rip the radio out of the car.

Sorry but after telling my newbie mates about WorthFM and how great it can be, I was so disappointed this year. It was dire :(

    • Geese playing for 1:20 instead of just an hour was a lovely surprise. The energy was great!
    • Oh well that's why then, I assumed it was still the same. Thanks!
