Honestly can't get over the reactions to this mans death. I've already given my thoughts in the thread on the Glastonbury forum, but the fact that people are acting like some vital cornerstone of society has died a noble death is gobsmacking. He was a f**king div, that just so happened to corner a sub culture of teenage "skater" types who thought getting naked and doing stupid shit was hilarrriousss. He gets pissed and decides to drive his car at 110mph killing not only himself, but his mate, boo hoo, poor ryan... f**k off. Sad when anyone loses their life, but people die all the time, and because this c**t had a beer enema or something, he's a "legend"... nah.

ironically this was my favourite thing which he did, really wanted to do the gumball when I saw it.. anyway regardless of the circumstances its pretty upsetting when someone from your generation goes when you still feel, well pretty young R.I.P :(

Well that was a quick turnaround in the toxicology report

http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1666262/ryan-dunn-intoxicated-death.jhtml

Apparently he was intoxicated, twice the legal limit. Such a waste.

An idiotic way to die, and could have endangered so many more lives. Hopefully it will serve as a reminder to the dangers of drink driving. My thoughts go out to the family and friends of the passenger and Ryan Dunn.

This is something that scares me though - could I do something as insane as that if I was utterly wasted? I've done things while completely f**ked that seem too bizarre for me to ever do, and uncharacteristic and it all happens in a dream-like funk it makes me wonder if you get to a point where a mere thought is all you need, just like in some mad dreams where your subconscious feeds you some of the dumbest shit which you don't question at the time, until after you wake up.

It's easy to judge but alcohol/drugs make you do really, REALLY stupid shit if you do enough of it. No excuse like, as there's always a point where you can prevent going over that line, but I think because that line is very easy to misjudge it's always quite tragic to hear about instances like this where it ends in tears.

RIP.

    • A name I didn’t think of. Maybe too big though. Think he’d go down very well despite being quite controversial.
    • Oh bummer, got excited then 😂   Although if I had read all the way down it would have been a bit of a give away, no other festival will book both of those 😂
    • I think the age of tickets flying out day one for a lot of artists is drawing to a close now, especially with the prices.   There will be exceptions of course, I was surprised how quickly Phoebe Bridgers sold out
    • Tbf they sold out the mainland European shows that follow this UK tour more or less immediately so I guess much of Europe will be stadiums for them next summer regardless and they might want to bring any stadium bespoke production here, even if it's just one night at a London stadium or whatever.    I like the new album and wanted to see them again but £150 for a standing ticket is ridiculous and all the sub-£100 price categories sold out. So you know, would like to go but guess I'm waiting for any last minute dropouts. Tbf I would hazard a guess of these 4 UK shows in November that more tickets are sold than unsold and by the time of the show it'll be, if not a full house, close enough.
    • I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility    It would feel like a bit of waste for their first set in the UK for 12 years be an hour and 10 mins as a sub    A lot of people will buy day tickets just for FNM
