Snow Patrol? been away a while, ad havent played glasto since 04, so before they exploded following the release of eyes open.

no other festival apearances, would be a nice low key way to showcase there new material with an album forthcoming in the later half of the year. and the time slot would fit tem quite nicely

stereophonics also in a similar position

just seems weird all this clamoring for arctics/pulp/strokes who are all playing a load of oter festivals

tho id love to see the srokes again,i know ill be seeing the in a few months time anyway

would it really be that exciting to see pulp play yet another festival this summer, which festivals arnt they playing?

much as i dont care for him, noel gallagher doing a solo show

or lily rose cooper coming out of retirement for one night ( would be great wouldnt it? perfect place to do it aswell)

coxon and albarn acoutic set

strokes playing "is this it" for its rapidly aproaching 10th aniversary ( and still havent played glasto have they?)

metric, pj harvey, or the cribs would be good, as would pains of being pure at heart, or of course mogwai (tho theyd be beer in the dark)

pavement, guided by voices, jesus and mary chain, jack white

or even the rumoured jay-z/kanye colaboration, tho it would hardly be in keeping with the rest of the days park lineup

christ seapony, beach fossils, los campesinos, best coast etc would be great too

really disapointed with how few of the new geneation of bands are cropping up

so many festivals, and they all have prety similar line ups

im expecting it o be something pretty obvious, the evises hardly have exciting taste in music do they?

may not be excting but itd definately be something exclusive.

reember back in he 90s when we had reading, vfest, glasto, t in the park, phoenix and guilfest?? n that was about it

and none of them had the same headliners, and none of them had the same acts all through the line up

whilst the uk has becom saturated with festivals (in a way no other country has) weve also had a pretty dry musicl spell with very few genuine headliners coming through

since the strokes/coldplay 9 years ago, who has really stepped up to that level?

MCR, arctic monkeys, muse, white stripes, kings of leon

i dont believe kasabian, killers or snow patrol are really big enough its just that thats what we have.

arcade fire wasa big gamble, tho twinned with libertines created a decent double header

and as theres no great swell of huge acts many of hose who could headline 10 yrs ago have fallen away, either splitting or diminishing popularity

oasis, the verve, the charlatans, garbage, travis manics etc

to e point that there is now a reliance on reforming bands to get headliners

guns n roses, libertines, blink 182 (all at reading 2010) blur, pulp, pixies, the wombles, suede, prodigy

some of whom weret even headlining befoe they split (2002 strokes were above pulp with only 12 songs released, and the pulp best of sold relly badly)

and the same acts apearing at festival upon festival

coldplay for glasto 2013 2015 2017

menswe@r to headline reading and leeds 2012

and the smiths at glasto 2014 as a 30th anniversary

unless i am mistake it is part of the liscence that Jack White plays every year unless i am mistaken i cannot see him on the line up.

i am sticking 10p on little Meg making one last apperance and we all having a white stripes final show.................

This is based on no evidence what so ever other then a couple of pints of cider....

But it would be good wouldn't it

I have a friend (who is on these boards) and she works on the Info stalls. I have instructed her to text me as soon as she finds out - that's where I got the tip off on Radiohead last year - from one of the Info points. Apparently, nothing is given away to them until quite close to the slot.

    • Falls in the category of acts i'd love to see on the farm but sadly don't think it will ever happen.
