Bumping for the bumping

The festivals now days away, Rebecca Black has taken down here video of Friday because people didn't like it. (Why else would it have got to 130 million+ views), Muslamic Ray Guns are still terrifying those backwards enough to be in the EDL. My avata has been pointed out.

So any more guesses as what it's going to be or more plugs of one you think could be?

I never knew how "Dan" Mutated to "Alan" (apart from the fact its Alan Partridge) as a campsite shout (or meh, mem, meme or whatever you call it now) - Perhaps all this is poor translation due to Brothers cider consumption

- I'm a traditionalist always insist on the original though, always the best.. enjoy

"Meme" was coined by Richard Dawkins, in The Selfish Gene, I think. It's there to help you understand what genes are and how they prosper or die out. A meme is like a gene, except that where a gene is a chunk of DNA, a meme is an idea- be it a joke, a tune, a picture, a way of cooking eggs, a catchphrase or whatever.

Genes prosper by getting copied into an offspring which goes on to survive and breed. Memes prosper by getting copied into another person's brain through communication, and that person thinking it's a good enough idea that they want to communicate it to someone else.

Weak memes (e.g. a joke so bad you forget it immediately) disappear. Strong memes spread to lots of people.

So this year's meme will probably be the meme of standing in front of a stage being entertained. Again.

    • Never too early to start discussing next year’s headliners right?   I’m not attending this year so thought I’d get the ball rolling as I saw Weezer have a new album out in August I’d expect them to do this or Slam Dunk next year. I mean they’re probably too big for this however I think they’re niche enough that they would maybe do it, it just depends on if the fee is a bit out of range for trees.    It’ll be the 20th anniversary next year so I’d expect some throwbacks and hopefully some big headliners/acts. James has already said he’s made a mad booking that you wouldn’t guess & I think he mentioned that he’s spent something like 80% of this years budget of next years top line already on last weeks 2 promoters 1 pod (Don’t quote me on that).    I reckon they’ll try for and get at least two (not all) of the following - Enter Shikari, AFI, Weezer, Sex Pistols Feat Frank Carter, Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls
    • for some reason last night watched series one of Prey on Netflix.   if Legends was written by Timmy Mallet (see above) then Prey seems to have been made by Mr Blobby.   why are all these British crime dramas so sh*t?
    • It'll be all over various Seatfillers based upon previous years at Sandringham
    • The Jayhawks 2026 UK Tour    Sept 15 – Brighton – Corn Exchange  Sept 16 – London – Electric Ballroom Sept 17 – Manchester – Academy 2 Sept 18 – Glasgow – The Garage    For you ‘americana’ lovers. They have a great song book.
    • Weezer just announced a new album & US tour so could add them to the headliner pool. Imagine they’ll do this or trees
