Tent Advice?

I'm looking to buy a double-skin 2 person tent (don't mind if it's a pop up one) for less than £50. Anyone got any recommendations?

This is my first time at Glastonbury and I've always borrowed friend's tents for other festivals I've been to so I thought it was about time I bought my own as I'm not sharing a tent with anyone this year.

I've been recommending the eurohike avon, from millets, which when on sale is in that range. I have 2 of them, one of which I've used the last few years and another I bought this year as the old one is starting to look a bit worn.

I now realise this was a mistake, it will only make it harder to find my tent if other people buy them. Please buy a quecha ;)

I'd say look second hand on eBay - I wouldn't buy a budget tent now as it's cheaper to spend more and get a tent that'll last for years on end with a bit of TLC. Tent I've got now is ace, £99 new and get the feeling it'll last for an age.

Don't buy pop ups or 'cheap' tents from Tesco et al. They're great in good weather, but Glasto is known for its apocalyptic conditions (05, 07 anyone?!!)and cheap tents just don't stand up, trust me it's not worth the risk. I would look for a good make - Eurohike, Gelert, Vango, Coleman - on special offer. There are some great deals on the net and you should be able to get something for £30 to £40 tops..

Cheap tents aren't always bad. I had a rage bodo from that tentatistic ebay shop that someone has already mentioned. I did waterproof it (not sure if it was necessary though) and it never leaked. That included glastonbury in 2007, which was very very wet. The tent only cost about £35.
