Just been looking at Opener and Electric Picnic Fests.

I think it's fair to say Bloc Party, Public Enemy, Gogol Bordello, Bon Iver, Justice have a good chance. We share a fair few acts with Open'er, Top of bill acts especially. Last year, we shared both our co-headliners, in 09 we shared two of our headliners.

Last year at Electric Picnic we also shared a sub headliner and at least one undercard high band. The year before we shared Modest Mouse, Foals, LCD Soundsystem, Mumford & Sons and The Big Pink to name a few.

I wouldn't say it's guaranteed to have The Cure but I would say it's a decent chance and Flo under them would be the massive mainstream booking the fest would need, I think that fits better than under Kasabian and with Dizzee below her that's very strong.

Don't think we can read too much about The Cure being confirmed for EP. It just means they are even more likely for R+L or Latitude as they are in talks with FR.

What would be interesting is to know the placement of Elbow, they seem likely to headline Latitude at this point but are they only subbing EP? If they are then I'd say it makes The Cure a little more likely for R+L rather than Latitude as we know The Cure are headlining EP.

Tbh, I think Id rather have Flo headline and have a good NME or Lock up headliner same night than have her sub if the other headliner is going to be someone bad, which if it isnt the cure looks likely atm.

Foo Fighters

Black Keys

Primal Scream

Kasabian

Bloc Party

Kaiser Chiefs

Florence

Mumford and Sons

Razorlight

If it was them 9 with White Lies, The Vaccines, The Courteeners and Maximo Park on the main stage as well, with some good acts on NME that would do me very nicely. As for the NME headliner same night as Florence, maybe Klaxons? Tbh I want to see Maccabees but I cant really see them being against Flo with her probably being the most similar act to them of the 3 headliners.

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
