I've said it once and I'll say it again. Wombats will not sub the NME nevermind be 3rd.

That aside, it's a reasonable lineup but there's not one headliner there I'd see, then again there wasn't in 09 as well. I do hope The Flaming Lips play, 13 years is far too long for them not to play.

Eminem?

Apparently according to my friends who went (lucky sods) said he was outstanding at V Festival.

Just thought i'd through that in there. Proberly would be better than he was in 2001 aswell.

Avenged Sevenfold would be dream headliners TBH, somebody has to give A7X, QOTSA, Machine Head, Paramore a chance to headline to see how they'd do.

Green Day or Foo Fighters look likely though.

I think you can probably say Foo's and Kasabian pretty much dead certs for enxt year.

Kasabian UK Winter Tour in late november to mid december, obvs going to promote it at a UK Festival as well. Isle of Wight played this year as well. TITP sharing headliner maybe?, only last year they did it but T do that unless R+L Exclusive

Yeah, Reading/Leeds are pretty much the only major festivals Kasabian have yet to tick off on their headlining list, and 2012 co-incides with promotion of their new album. Can see Bloc Party subbing as well, for a change. ;)

Taylor Hawkins pretty much self-confirmed the Foos didn't he? Well he said that they were asked to headline next year and seeing as how much Dave loves Reading I can't see them turning it down.

As for the 3rd headliner? I think it will be one of System Of A Down, Jay-Z, Blur, R.E.M., The Killers, Linkin Park or, just to throw a curveball in as they're not likely but would go down well if booked, Coldplay.

Don't know if Bloc Party will sub now? They've played 3rd once and 2nd twice, and FR love Kele as solo too when they aren't playing. I still reckon Bloc Party, Kasabian, Foo's is a huge chance, if not.

Blur - But can't see it.

Kasabian

Bloc Party

Foo Fighters

Biffy Clyro

SOAD i think would want a new album, plus i don't think they'd headline, might get shouted for that but i don't, i wouldn't mind like, R.E.M i don't think, The Killers i think are much more likely for the following year, but i reckon isle of wight next year with chilis, Jay-Z is a chance, Linkin Park and i'm going to say Green Day just don't seem like it'll happen. Linkin Park have opted for Download the last twice they could've come back and GReen Day don't really do festivals over here, more stadium dates

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
