Why haven't Leftfield been asked to play the festival this year?

Yesterday leftfield posted a message through their facebook page explaining to the many queries they had received, that they couldn't play Glastonbury this year because they hadn't been asked.

Maybe with the Chemical Brothers headlining the Other Stage they figured Leftfield would be similar? I don't know. Saw Leftfield for the first time at Brixton last year and they were brilliant, definitely missed a trick there.

I imagine it's because it's not the original line-up and they're not producing new material, both of which tend to devalue these things.

I'm fairly sure that last year when approached about festivals they essentially asked for a shed load of money and took all the best paying offers (I think Neil had info on this) so I'm guessing they may not have been asked because there would have been an assumption that they couldn't be afforded. It would be great if they were there, though. They are a fantastic live act who were better than the Chems, I always thought. Well, they at least were a few years ago!!

Saw them last year at LED festival and was somewhat underwhelmed.

I was impressed with them at LED, however it was the first time I'd seen them. They're playing SGP this year and surely they wouldn't be able to pay massive rates?
