So I've just read t8yman's first post and rang my brother-in-law who plays bass in a Pearl Jam tribute band in Liverpool - telling him to get on t'interweb and get the f**king tickets booked for him and his mates.

Then i scrolled down. Fucckkkkkk!!!ph34r.gif

Oh well, give 'em a chance to check out the competition.

I'm not answering my phone tonight.

I'm confused, are you annoyed at Metallica or Maiden?

Metallica could charge so little as it was a big venue and Maiden charge so much as its a small intimate venue (Brixton Academy?) which you normally wouldn't see them in.

He's saying that it's sad that we'll pay so much for these tickets when they make rich people richer, yet so little when it's for charity.

You can understand when it's a clothes shop selling second hand gear because the goods are of distinctly lower quality than those found on the high street, but when it's a prestigeous ticket that will easily sell out then it raises the question: why charge so little. It's a token gesture if you ask me.

and they also could have done it for free like rage.

or charged £200 and alienated a lot of their fanbase.

there's far bigger things that you could be criticising metallica for. a charity gig definitely isn't one of them.

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
