Third Sub-Headliner

It's been a while since the last poll, and a lot of bands have been ruled out or put forward since then.

It looks reasonable to say that the three headliners will be Muse, the Strokes ans MCR and two of the sub-headliners Elbow and Pulp, with the Prodigy not playing.

So who do we think will be playing and want to play as the final sub?

Correct. The Offspring may be nailed on to play but they aren't the same status as REM and Tool. Basically I didn't include them as I don't think they'll be that high up.

Eh? Regardless of status, they've a hell of a bigger chance of subbing MCR than REM or Tool?

I could easily see them playing third down. I know they're subbing at glasto but then again Dizzee subbed last year

Why are you so convinced about Munford & Sons being a headliner?

I think he means Dizzee subbed Glasto and played third at R&L so Elbow could do the same this year.

I have no idea, I just have a hunch. Something about the tent last year, the feeling about the place, the Brit Award, the Grammy nomination, the ongoing support from Radio 1, and the strange mass appeal of the band that makes me turn my head slightly and think, "Hmmm... well, stranger things have happened".

They just got announced as subbing the other stage at Glasto this year though. Safe to say you can rule that out now.

Arcade Fire were around alot longer and played Reading more times than Mumford at the moment.

If they don't headline, they'll sub-headline. Realistically, they'd probably headline Latitude and then come to Reading and Leeds next year.

The differance on the 'think' and 'want' bars for 30STM speaks volumes.

I'm not sure when the 30STM ball started rolling, I think people are just trying to match up a similar band as they headliner (MCR). I don't think there's been any leaks or proof, just an idea that's gained a lot of momentum.

The views of some people in this thread are insane, Mumford & Sons will almost certainly not sub let alone headline and more people seem to think 30STM will play than MCR will headline.

No chance of happening, but REM would be good (albeit a bit backwards with them subbing MCR).
