Who should be subbing...

I'm sick of all the headliner talk!

So we have a few rumours of Pulp, Soundgarden, Elbow, Prodigy & 30 Secs To Mars playing 2nd on main stage anyone want any body else to make up for the poor headliners?

Personally I want a surprise like Tenacious D again and get Daft Punk or some one completely out of no where.

Tenacious D were brilliant when they subbed Metallica!

Ideally it would be Pulp, Soundgarden and Pixies, realistically it'll be Pulp, Elbow and Prodigy.

Unless they headline, I can see Mumford and Sons being one of the subs. Tinie Tempah or Vampire Weekend might be a good shout too.

I know they're not the most loved band, but I want stereophonics to be sub, (or maybe third).

I'd like to see Pixies, Manics, Biffy Clyro, Placebo, Smashing Pumpkins, REM, Train, Soundgarden from the top of my head. (Not sure of the popularity of some of the bands. REM may be too big for the leeds crowd, Train are probably nowhere near big enough - and probably too poppy for subbing at reading/leeds).

Realistically though it looks like it will be prodigy, pulp (both of whom would probably be the two bands i look forward to most) and elbow, who I find a bit boring, but are supposed to be good live.

Mumford & Sons are would be better subbing the NME for me personally, better atmosphere in a tent for them. However Bloc Party, Prodigy, Elbow, Pulp. Any of those 2 would do me perfectly

If 30STM sub, I will eat my hat. They aren't big enough. They aren't the right band to sub for Reading.

Tbh, I'm actually in doubt that Pulp will play at all, as much as I really want it to happen. They're already announced for IOW, Wireless and T. Surely 4 major festivals in the UK would be too much? Even Prodigy didnt play that many in 2009!

As for others I'd like to see, I agree with the person suggesting Stereophonics (seen them twice, one of the best live bands around), Kasabian (although I doubt they'd take anything less than headline now), Pixies, 30STM, Weezer (I'd love them back)

Pulp, Prodigy(again), Placebo, 30STM, The offspring(maybe too high), Manics, Kaiser Chiefs(again but with new material), I'd love tenaciosus D, soundgarden, Florence & the machine(although I'd expect third from top), elbow, System of a down(very special guests, unlikely), Them Crooked Vultures, The Darkness(long shot), Pixies, Maximo Park(providing a new record), Beastie Boys(much prefer a headline and can't see it), Faithless, Daft Punk.

Then it could also be someone who has headlined in the past coming down a level.

I think the pickle is choosing the subs for MCR.

Some of those are more likely than others.
