Adding specific tracks to i phone without sycing everything.

Can anyone help? Is it possible to buy an album on i tunes and then transfer just that album to an i phone without syncing everything (and consequently losing anything on the phone that isn't in the current i tunes library.) I have a new computer which has i tunes downloaded and I have all the stuff I purchased in the past but not albums I burned from cd. which I do have on my phone so don't really want to sync it. I know I should have bought it on the phone as you can do it the other way. I have tried the various help programmes but can't find the answer. I am hoping this is not a completely stupid question with an obvious answe but I can't work it out.

if you plug the device in, and then click on it on the left panel you should get the option to sync only ticked songs and videos. alternatively i think you can click on the "music" tab at the top of the device page and tell it sync only with a specific playlist. Just set up a playlist that you chuck all the songs you want and tell it to sync to this only.

oh sorry, my bad. ignore what I said, didn't read your post properly. I think you'll have to get unofficial software that'll take songs from your iphone and place them in your music and vice versa without the need to sync. Its like a fake itunes. mates have used it. Cant remember what its called though

I love when people slag off iPods just because they don't understand how or why they work the way they do. And it's an argument I'm not having again. The short answer is no.

The only option you have is to copy your iTunes folder from your old pc to your new one, but I'm guessing that's not an option now?

The reason iTunes works the way it does is because of the autosync function, a function every other mp3 hardware/software producer wishes they had come up with.

I really don't have a problem with the way it's done, once you understand what you can and can't do, it's incredibly simple to manage.

I'm not criticising the op btw. Just the general apple bashing.

Btw, in my experience, the 3rd party software f**ks up the track/album/artist organisation due to the frankly mindboggling file structure used on the actual iPod.

Newer progs may be better but the one I used was copypod, and it was a few years ago

Besides, wouldn't it be quicker and easier to just download all the albums?
