Not too sure myself, the verses just seem uncomfortable. Hope it grows on me though, have always been a fan.

Always thought they were very average, their last album wasn't great, and this is just dull. Whats the point. If they don't want to be a band then don't be, don't release shit for the sake of it.

I would say it's ok. Not any worse than their other material but certainly not any better.

It simply is just average. I expected the single to be similar to this but I'm hoping they took a couple risks on the rest of the record. They've lost the edge in vocals, and in their guitar riffs, which I have always thought were their top traits as a band.

enjoyed the single however the strokes are the strokes, i will always love them from there past. Having seen them 5 years ago, i'm intrigued to see what they produce, hoping they make R/L

I personally think that it's a really good comeback, not as strong as their other singles...but still pretty good Really hope they play R/L this year.

Big strokes fan but not massively keen on this single. Sounds like their treading water on this one, and with the album only being ten tracks long, let's hope the quality is high (half a decade away and ten tracks, great work ethic).

Not quite sure why first impressions of earth didn't get a good reaction, I really enjoyed it and thought it was very close in terms of quality to is this it.

when i first listened to it i wasn't too impressed bu i must say it's grown on me and i do really like it now! obviously it has nothing on 'reptilia' and 'last night' etc etc, but at least it shows they haven't run out of good ideas for songs after 4 albums like some bands do...! hope they play reading, would be truly amazing!

It's not bad. I've always liked The Strokes, I only went up to Rockness last year to see Blondie and The Strokes. Blondie wasn't great, but The Strokes were amazing, a worthy headlining band.

Found this on the Wikipedia page for the new album. Yes, people will doubt Wikipedia for obvious reasons but it does have a source which supports it, so could be true:

"The band are thought to embark on a full European and Worldwide promoting tour of the album in 2011 and 2012. It has been confirmed they will headline the Reading Festival and the Leeds Festival in England in late August as part of the tour with an indoor arena run penciled for early January 2012. Julian Casablancas confirmed the band's appearence at the English events in an interview with a Dutch TV station that aired on 10 February 2011. Owners of the British festivals, Festival Republic will announce the band as headliners late March 2011."
