Take That v Jay Z

Are you telling me to stay off the Pyramid Stage, or Take That (or both?)??

I don't think Jay Z had released 11 albums then (has he now??) and the Spice Girls have sold something like 70 million records, so record sales alone are irrelevant, but to be fair, I take your point. I just find the snobbery surrounding acts at Glastonbury really bizarre, given that it's supposed to be the friendly, inlcusive, everyone's welcome, etc, etc festival. To me, it seems that that is true if you like the same bands as few loud members of the public (and festival forums!) and if you don't, you're a moron.

Jay Z headlining was a seminal moment for the festival and for UK festivals in general imo. The furore surrounding it catapulted Glasto back into the media limelight and the whole fest that year had a real positive vibe about it I thought. The last two years have continued that trend (helped by the weather obviously!).

If Take That headlined it would also be a seminal moment for the festival. And like it or not, it might be the time a lot of 'traditional' glasto goers start to feel that the festival is changing into something with which they could no longer identify.

I agree with what you are saying there for sure after all it is very easy to say Take That, Oasis, Coldplay, Kylie, etc etc are rubbish which is pretty negative and boring tbh

The great think about Glastonbury is that I could see a massive variety of stuff from dubstep to acoustic folk music and everything in between.

Sorry if it came across wrong , I didnt mean you have to stay off the Pyramid stage just that some of my best times have been seeing some of the smaller stuff whilst the headliners are on the pyramid (probably as I am a bit claustrophobic and there are too many people for my liking!)

beautiful world - patience, shine, rule the world (rerelease)

everything changes - pray, relight my fire, babe

nobody else - back for good, never forget, sure

check :D

not to mention

it only takes a minute, a million love songs, could it be magic, greatest day, love ain't here anymore, said it all etc

plus the less popular singles and album tracks :D

who cares anyway? They're VERY DEFINITELY NOT BOOKED to play at this time.

What you claim to have heard is 100% wrong. Which of course means there's another wrong 'un to chalk up to your beloved The Scum too. :P

That doesn't mean that they definitely won't appear next year (tho it's very unlikely at this moment in time), but as things stand at this moment they are definitely not playing.

what i heard was from paul. when he told me though i've said i don't want to believe him, nor do i. he said they were getting a sunset slot. a slot that i don't think they would or should accept. headline or nothing.

2012 is a fallow year when they would be taking the summer off anyway. 2013 probably not touring. so it won't be until 2014 til we're having this lovely discussion again :D

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
