I'd just mention that REM in '99 was the absolute pinnacle moment in all my glastos, the first couple of tracks were "new stuff" from their current album and the crowd were getting restless, singing "end of the world" between songs. The band pitched into familiar favourites, the crowd reacted and everything just clicked. An absolutely magical gig which neither the band nor the crowd wanted to call time on. If you get the chance to see them, do so, they give so many different kinds of performance that you can see them a dozen times and learn to appreciate a whole new side to them.

Moving on though... ;)

Mumford and sons for me. I missed them this year and really, really wanted to be in that crowd.

Like most, I also have a huge list of bands I have yet to see (radiohead, placebo, pearl jam) and bands I'd love to see again (Prince, REM, Muse, Coldplay)

I'll go with Noel Gallagher. This is because, after Paul McCartney;

he is our biggest star - not open to debate

he has unfinished business after 2 underwhelming headline appearances

he is due to release new material

he is better, and has more tunes, than any other British songwriter currently operating.

Pixies, without a shadow of a doubt. Headlining The Other Stage would be absolutely wonderful, I need need neeeeed to see them again.

Re R.E.M., I saw them a few years ago at the cricket ground in Manchester and they were frigging awesome, would definitely watch them again if they played at Glastonbury providing they didn't clash with anyone I wanted to see more etc.

I'd genuinely rather watch Barbara Windsor and Rolf Harris rim eachother on stage than have that stupid c**t play there, regardless of being able to go elsewhere, the thought of Gallagher playing on a stage where someone actually worthwhile could have played makes me feel nauseous.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
