I don't think I believe this. They cancelled Newcastle and Glasgow ages ago and that was only because they were adding other dates. They wouldn't let it get this close to gig before cancelling Manchester, surely? And the only tickets I can see still available are for the upper tier seats. Not exactly a wash-out.

In my opinion, I thought the Gorillaz set at Glasto was great.

And I really hope the OP is wrong as I've got tickets for Manchester.

From that See Tickets link it would appear that they still have the entire upper tier to sell. I've been to a couple of gigs at the M.E.N where they have just closed sections of the upper tier off, but with the cost of putting these shows on, its likely that they are relying on a sell out. Could well be some truth in this.

I watched the full Letterman show on Friday, cracking performance by all accounts, some of the songs have really evolved live, even compared to June. Some of the youtube footage of the US tour has Damon being much more talkative then the Glasto spot. Bobby Womack seems much more confident on his own turf.

I'd be interested to hear who the OP's 'friend' is at the MEN and what his job there is. I've just rung them and spoke to customer services and they've not heard any such rumours and said the concert is going ahead as planned.

You could say "oh they are bound to say that" but she sounded genuinely surprised to me.

HUGE gorillaz poster just down the road from M.E.N went up over the weekend, strange to do so if they are thinking of cancelling ?!

Listened to plastic beach again last night, fantastic album. May pop down on the night and see if I can get hold of cheap tickets from touts

I got to say, I didn't go and see Gorillaz (can't remember what I was doing, probably mooching around Shangri La / Arcadia) but that clip above of Clint Eastwood is f**king fantastic. I sort of wish I'd gone to see them. Looks f**king brilliant.
