Card Declined - Tickets Cancelled ?!?!

I bought 7 tickets on Sunday and have been checking my a/c to make sure the payment has gone through.

I rang my bank and they say the payment (for £350) was declined due to lack of cleared funds - this was true and I have now added funds, but when I just rang SEE on 0115 945 4590 the guy said the transaction would be cancelled and all I could do is try again in the resale next year !

Is this true ?

Do I not get an opportunity to re-present the funds and secure my original booking ?

Seems that last year some folks got emails to say their money could not be collected and then had a 2nd chance to complete the transaction.

Sorry but if you were checking your bank to make sure the payment went through, did you not notice there wasn't £350 there to cover it anyway??

No idea on where you stand though, never had that problem. Did the See operator say it was cancelled, or would be?

I seem to remember that people not having funds in their accounts after ordering tickets and then these orders being cancelled was the reason why a reasonable amount of people got tickets booked quite soon after tickets were sold out

Not sure if it is the same this year but debit cards either have the transactin validated or cancelled.

Panic over I think/hope !

Just rang on a second number - had to wait 10 minutes on hold - but the nice lady said that they had re-tried the transaction with the bank and it has gone thru this just this morning :)

Must have caught Mr Grumpy when I rang first time.

All about perserverence - but boy you have to be on the ball when buying for several at once - which is what the booking system forces you to do - but that's a topic covered in another thread so ....

On the confirmation I received it states the following:

Sales will be processed immediately and your transaction will be completed during the five working days following the sale. For the avoidance of doubt please check your bank/card statement following your transaction/s to be certain whether or not your payment has been successful .Any transaction that results in a charge back or payment dispute will be cancelled. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have sufficient funds in your account to pay for the tickets. If your transaction hasn't been processed within 5 working days, contact Seetickets immediately.

This was not on last years so looks like it is a new thing, sorry and hope you get sorted in any resale. :(

I was £8 away from being in the same situation!

Me and 7 others were all going in individually but when the shit hit the fan we all decided to book all 8 together. I was the first to get through so did it on my card forgetting that I had just transferred a large sum into an isa. It was squeaky bum time to say the least!

Hi,

I just had an email from See saying that they were unable to get the monies from my bank and supplied a link to try again. They said that I had till 11th Oct. to do it. I re put in my details and then phoned them up. It seems that they did not even try to get the money. As there were so many people all at the same time they had problems with there system. An email just saying that they needed the info again becouse of overload would have been better than saying they could not get the money. Thats the second heart attack in 4 days. I asked her to double check and she said it had gone through ok. Hope this helps some people. Still going to check my account everyday tho.

Hi people, I have just had the same problem as anoldhippie and others. I rang See as I couldn't see why there would be any problem with them obtaining payment as there are ample funds to cover, and I was worried my bank had made an error. Lady I spoke to said that there were so many transactions the system overloaded. I have now re-entered the same details and payment has gone through. Maybe as it is a problem on the See site a different e-mail should have been sent, one that would not give us heart attacks after Sunday's booking marathon.
