Apologies if this has been discussed before. Couldn't see any other threads after a quick search.

Not a masssive U2 fan, but reckon they will be good at Glasto.

This is supposedly the song they wrote especially for Glasto:

Not to sure on it. Don't think the lyrics actually reflect a great deal on Glasto - i.e. "Under the flower of the American dream"

It's not a "typical U2 song"....The only other song similar to it is get on your boots, which was different and frankly very weak. There should be different options..but in short i think it is in fact having watched it again , i would say it's their weakest song ever...those lyrics - 6th form drivel..melody - make up on the spot...dreadful. I'll wait for the Achtung Baby re-issue thanks..Now that's an album..

I think U2 are ok, if they play good, if they don't then not too bothered.

But this song IMO has nothing "Glastonbury" about it, for a Glastonbury festival song you'd expect lyrics containing things that are part of the festival, the cows, mud, long drops, pyramid, stone circle, Eavis family, etc...

Song is ok, might be a grower but doesn't feel it was made by someone that actually loves the festival as much as many of us do.

I thought it was poor, very poor. This might in part have been the way the video was shot, but, for me, the song didn't work.

The lyrics seem to mention Glastonbury merely in passing, with no relevance to the town or the festival. It's a cheap cop-out way of trying to get an extra cheer during the festival. I, for one, won't be cheering if they do play it (I'll be at another stage seeing some better music).

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
