Left the flat at 8:30, booted up my office PC at 8:50. Got into the queue at 9am, was able to book at 9:30. Phoned a mate to see how he was getting on and the website kept crashing. I went to try and again and was immedaitely back in the queue. Waited another 30 minutes. Booked his tickets then was home by 10:15 and out playing Sunday League footy by 11:00am.

Sadly I nor any of my freinds managed to get tickets this year!!! Started trying at 8.50 am constantly hitting refresh did have a see tickets page loads up but then it threw me out and just a constant internet explorer cannot connect to this page until they all sold out!!! TOTALLY GUTTED, had 3 laptops and 2 phones just constantly at it with not even a hint of the page showing up after the first intial one!! Same for all my other freinds trying to get through!!! SO holding out for a the resale so praying I can get tickets!! Never had any problems the last 4 years so this year was a major shock for me!!! Still feeling Poop about it now!!!

Will there be a post on here for the resale dates does anyone think??

Ohh and congrats to all who did manage to get tickets!!

(edit - shit, sorry didn't mean to write all that - to sum up I spent 2 hours trying and then succeeded - now bugger off and read some more interesting posts)

Up at 08:30 after (very) heavy night on the Guinness.

Logged on to pc, loaded up Firefox, Chrome and IE8 - maybe 10 or so tabs on each.

From about 08:40 onwards, tried to access seetickets for myself and a mate. He was trying to do the same. No luck whatsoever.

09:15 came and went so I gave him a ring and asked how he was getting on. "I'm changing the bedsheets" he says! WTF?! After giving him a severe bollocking it was back to refreshing those many tabs for another hour or so.

Rang him back at 10:15 or so - no luck. His missus had been on the phone to See - over 150 redials but nothing. (Did anyone actually manage to buy a ticket over the phone?)

I was getting many Firefox tabs hitting the 'queue' - never had anything from Chrome or IE8. Eventually though, the Firefox tabs all timed out. Sometimes i'd get back in the 'queue' in Firefox but they would all time out sooner or later.

Twitter updates from Emily and g l asto watch etc reassure me that there are still many tickets left - let's plough on.

Then it happens.

10:44. OMFG. Here we go. At last a Firefox tab has come up trumps and i enter our reg details. Then click submit.

I realise i have put his reg number in first and his becomes the billing address.

Shit! Should I click back and re-order the reg numbers?

Its risky but if i don't, what will happen when the transaction is processed and the billing address doesn't match the debit card address? I guess See would ring me to sort it out but can I risk that? I decide to go back and edit the reg number order. It works! I now put in the payment details and click submit.

Shit and double-shit! Request has timed out! Noooo! Has the sale gone through? I dunno! I click back and resubmit. Yes!!!!! Result!! 2 tickets bought!

Now the phone call to tell him i've sorted him out with his ticket. Relax...... but no. Start panicking that there is no confirmation mail yet...... I'm well aware that it can take hours or days for it to arrive yet I remain in that slump of doubt that something has gone wrong. Realistically I know that those tickets are mine but until that confirmation email comes in then i can't be sure (I am sure damn it).

Confirmation email arrives at 13:44. I don't notice it at first as i forgot that i set up filters in gmail to chuck seeticket emails into a separate folder. But there it is in all it's glory. Get the f**k in!!!

Had great trouble accessing efests for most of the afternoon but sporadic access allows me to see how people are getting on and it's a mixed response....

Definitely the hardest work to buy a ticket (for anything) that i've ever known.

Well done to everyone on here who helped other efesters out with tickets. You're all stars and your karma accounts will be overflowing. I feel slightly ashamed and grubby for not offering to do the same when I had the buy window open.

Commiserations to those who didn't get a ticket. I think there will be many more available in the resale than there were this year.

I started trying just after 8am, at 8.50am could tell they were onsale as I could no longer get the page to load. Luckily I had joined the Vloody Cloody MSN help groups and at 9.41 my group leader (who was on holiday in Cyprus!!) had a form up and booked my tickets - what a star!! I then stayed online until about 1pm trying for others in the groups and then the rest of the day reading the threads on here! :D

BF couldn't sleep and got up at 6.30am to check broadband was working as it had not been when we went to bed 11.30pm Sat night. He came back to bed but was up just after 8am 'just to see if the link is live yet'(still hoping for a 2008 repeat!) Started seriously trying to get on from 8.40am, got into the queue at about 10.50am, secured our tickets about an hour later then went back to get 3 more for my brother and his mates. Rapturous excitement coupled with disbelief for about an hour after that. Then we thought we'd better have some breakfast and get changed out of our pj's and dressing gowns.... :P

Pretty much the same as you guys. Was a jammie-dodger and managed to get my tickets at 9.02am (please don't let this jinx me for 2013..), but then literally spent all day reading the hilarity of the Facebook comment thread. I've never seen madness like it!

Fell out of bed with a very sore head at 8:50 Switched on laptop, had 6 pages open on firefox refreshing themselves every 20 seconds. Got my ticket at 9:20, as I then also had another 3 pages up offering tickets, I called my other mates and booked theres too.

Went back to bed at 9:40 cursing Michael Eavis for being such a bloody sadist! Why couldn't he have started the sale at 2pm?

Makes me wonder if those unlucky people who couldn't get tickets have slow internet? Maybe they live out in the sticks or something?

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
