couldn't believe how much stuff people left tbh, I mean full camping gear and massive (and probably rather expensive) tents, near us a group of lads left 4 brand new 4 man tents with everything in them and a huge 6 man tent with like 3 seperate bedrooms...... so we took the 6 man one and also a gazebo complete with box and instructions lol

We took all of our stuff home as usual and filled our bin bags and put them in bins...

We chilled out most of Monday and it was quite funny seeing how many scavages they let on site we had to man out tent at all times to ensure no one took our stuff lol as when helping fella take down tent next to us this kid was getting rather excited and eyeing up our tent - had to stroll over and tell him well err no!!

We cleared our site completely and others around us were not too bad. About 100 yards from the car on our walk on the way out, we found an abandoned trolley. Quite new and in mint condition, one of the ones with pneumatic tyres and a cage thing on the back. Luckily, I have a van so we had that away!

We took all our stuff as usual just leaving bagged up rubbish. I must say the site was generally left in a much better state- that video of last years rubbish tip shown during the football on Wednesday must have hit home with some of the wasteful w@nkers. not perfect but a lot better. :)

We left nothing on the ground, not even fag buts as we had used ash trays the whole time.

We did leave an unopened box of Carlsberg in a pile of other beer for the campsite team as requested.

I was very pleased that all the spaces vacated in disabled were spotless... just as it should be everywhere else.

It was definitely with a sense of smugness that I disposed of all my crap in the right bins, didn't leave anything behind, and grabbed a few tent pegs that were embedded near me. Seriously though, I think the videos and the 'leave no trace' message actually struck a chord this time. It's great to see something like that work. We left early on the monday. I think next time I will chill out on the monday and grab some abandoned stuff when I leave that afternoon. Not to steal, but to help clear up - reuse, recycle etc - and by that time anything that's not bungeed down/sat on/guarded etc. will be considered fair game.

We removed everything from our site and bagged up all the rubish! The guys behind us left a hugh ( i reckon 8 man) tent plus 4 double matresses! What a waste!

ended up leaving with most of our rich neighbours gear plus another seven or eight tents, ten camping chairs, two self inflating roll mats, five sleeping bags, two foot pumps, some torches and some other bits and bobs which we reckon more than covered the price of all our tickets and helped reduce the amount of stuff going to landfill in the process :)

Left nothing behind. Not even fag ends. If you've ever done a post-festival litterpick you won't leave anything behind.

But scavenged nothing either. Not because we're 'holier than thou' but because we were in the CV East field and I think CV people are less inclined to leave anything behind as it's easier for them to take everything home.

i took most of my stuff home, just left my rubbish and camping mats but left everyhting in bin bags.

didn't litter all weekend but it really annoyed me seeing rubbish lying just a few feet away from bins. the worst seemed to be people who just sat in their chair at the pyramid stage all day, then just left all their rubbish behind.

Our little group left a half full bin bag of rubbish, our patch, and I must say, those around us, was left a nice rubbish free area, which was very good indeed :D I've always wanted to do some scavenging and sell the stuff at a car boot sale but I'm either on public transport so can't carry much, or I'm too flaming knackered to start folding up abandoned tents and collecting stuff

How did you have the energy (not to mention room in your car) for that lot? That's impressive scavenging! I'm just jealous as I'm still regretting not rescuing a Cath Kidston tipi that was abandoned next to my mate's camp. I just couldn't have carried it along with everything else. Hmph.

I left two tent pegs which were stuck solid in the ground (sorry Michael), 5 full cans of beer, one cigarette butt I accidentally dropped during Gorillaz (did pick several other butts I spotted up at other times during the festival to make up for it), and had to leave a bag of rancid meat in the carpark as it was making my car undrivable. Couldn't see any bins in the carpark so left it in a corner of a field.

how did everyone manage to take extra stuff?

i took my tent/chair/sleeping bag/mat and clothes all, but couldn't carrry anything else and our sack truck was crap - so we just chucked it back in the car on the 2nd trip

next time we'll get that B&Q one - I thought the B&Q one was like 15 quid - when we went it said 35?!?! is that the same 1

We were in Dairy ground which was quite tidy when we left as one of our crew took all the bags to the edge collection point. The guys near us that had come mainly for the footy (from Liverpool)left 4 brand new tents, two of which were pop ups.2 sleeping bags also new , a gazebo and four blow up beds the footy guys behind us from Essex left a gianormous new 6 man tent four double beds and sleeping bags and around 200 empty cans of lager. They had been using their tent as a toilet so we didnt Tatt from them (Those guys were scum!)But we did take home the new pop up tents and sleeping bags but we just couldnt manage the gazebo as it was too heavy. Everyone else around us was tidy and the field looked pretty good to me when we left on Monday afternoon.

Would it be possible to have a place in each field where we could drop off new camping gear for the Salvation army or Any organisation that could use them? I am sure there are more people like us prepared to take down and fold up reusable tents for that purpose ( at least when the weather permits)
