I'd give the nod to With or Without You by Keane. They did it for Live Lounge a little while back and sounded great live. Exactly what I wanted to hear after the football.

Frank Turner did Springsteens Thunder Road at Leftfield and Abba's Dancing Queen in Strummerville. Both of those were pretty damn good!

The Beat doing Tears of a Clown at Croissant Neuf also brought back happy memories of a long time ago!

Speaking of all te Fleetwood Mac covers on display, I was very disappointed Vampire Weekend didn't perform their most excellent version of 'Everywhere'. Ditto that Frightened Rabbit didn't perform 'Set You Free'. In the absence of that, The Stranglers doing 'All Day and All of the Night' (good Ray Davies homage) or Al Stewart's "soundcheck" version of 'That's Alright Mama'.

Paloma Faith did a superb cover of 'Everybody's got to learn sometime' by The Korgis.

She was quite amazing allround although as daft as a toilet brush. In the army they would call her 'Dagenham'. Its the station beyond Barking.....

Two stood out for me:

- Corinne Bailey Rae (and band) doing "With a Little Help From my Friends" in Croissant Neuf. Her guitarist had a stunning voice. As did she, of course.

- Hobo Jones and the Junkyard doing "American Idiot" in Avalon. Had me in stitches when the guy on the washboard switched to play guitar "in a way you've never seen before" - basically, he whacked it with a hammer.

Don't know if many people will have watched them however the band in the live jukebox between circus and cabaret fields did some very cool and very funny covers. Including: can't touch this, house of jealous lovers, sabotage, i like to move it move it amongst others.

It was the most gawdful racket, not a single note was hit or held by Flo, and I can play in a band that badly.
