Campervans Arriving Tuesday

I did search but couldnt find anything on this,

We are taking a campervan van this year into the east campervan field. Was wondering those coming in a campervan on the Tuesday, what time are you planning on leaving where you live? Not really sure how busy it is going to be, especially with them never opening on Tuesday before.

We live in the North West England by Manchester!

We dont want to leave to late and possibly end up in queues of traffic!!

We're coming from Hull there are 3 campervans with us in total but we are staying in a campsite on the Tuesday about an hour from Glasto, so can get a good nights sleep and an early start on the Wednesday, only costing £25 a night per van so bargain really

We'll be driving down from near Leeds sometime Tuesday morning/early afternoon. Nice easy start to the day with a lie in, most of the van will already be packed, just need to sling a few things on the roofrack and we're off. I can't see there being much of a queue, don't think there are massive numbers of CV people all planning on arriving at the same time, probably just a steady trickle through the gates really.

No idea what time we'll get there as we're in an old VW so 55-60mph all the way. Get there mid afternoon maybe, awning up, can open, bbq on. Heaven

We're in a red and white splitty, feel free to come over, say hi, have a drink and maybe a burnt sauasge!!

ooooo so exciting

We are in the "Glastovan" and hope to be there from lunchtime with a bbq and beers (vino in my case). I've been working so hard and need to celebrate many things so planning on cramming in every second possible!

We are aiming to leave Mid Wales about 10ish on the Tuesday. Want to make the most of every minute. We are in the van for only the 2nd time so lots of figuring out of set up! We are in a rather fetching green 20 year old Citreon which will have a peas in a pod windsock if you fancy calling by and sharing a beer :)

Thanks for all your replies, think we're gonna leave about 9am. Take a nice easy drive down and stop off along the way!

Looking forward to getting there early and setting up ready for Wednesday without the hassle of the traffic!!

See you in campervan fields!

We're aiming to get there early afternoon - we can happily spend an entire afternoon pottering around setting up Camp Nixon - and like others don't want to miss a minute. Really looking forward to bbq and beers Tuesday night :)

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I need to ask something campervan field related. When entering the festival for the first time, do people entering through the pedestrian gates from the campervan fields receive different armbands? My sister reckons they do, meaning I won't be able to visit or stay in their camper if I enter via a 'normal' pedestrian gate

Ahhh you guys are persuading me to hit the site Tue evening now... Not sure what time we'll get down as we have to come round the M25 in rush hour, it'll be 10pm or so before we get there I assume. Alright, food for thought. I guess I was worried there would be stewards running round telling us not to get out of the campers until Wednesday morning?

Looks like we are meeting members of our group at Tesco in Shepton at around 12, stocking up on last minute supplies then heading off in convoy to camper van east fields early Tues afternoon. Plenty of time to get there, settled and unpacked with Bbq and beers! We'll be the ones with a bee flag pop over for a tin or two!
