He has undoubtedly been in poorer form this season and has scored way below what he should. But just under half of his goals scored this season being scored against half of the teams in the league is not exactly a bad stat. If anything it shows it doesn't matter who he plays

I was referring to all comps in those 15 games; includes Arsenal FA cup, Chelsea CL etc.

As said, he was shite earlier in the season, but is playing well currently. Goal tally's going to take a hit aswell in that he's not been the focal point this season like he was last. This year he's played as a 10, behind Hernandez and Berba earlier in the season in most games.

I disagree. It highlights the fact he rarely shows up in the big games, we all know he's been virtually passed by in the big European games he's played in across his whole career. That's not form, that's a trend.

Bit unfair. Disappointed in the finals, but he's scored in the quarters for 5 consecutive seasons.

Chelsea this year, got the goal in the first leg, and excellent performance in the second. Got the assist for the first goal against Marseille this year in the last 16 game.

09/10, scored 4 against Milan over the two legs, scored first leg against Bayern in the 2-1 defeat. Got injured 2nd leg around half time.

08/09, set up Ronaldo for the 3rd goal in the Arsenal semi (4th on agg), but scored and assisted Tevez in the quarters against Porto first leg at Old Trafford where drew 2-2. Crossed for Ronaldo to make it 2-0 on agg in second leg against Inter in the last 16 game aswell.

07/08, in the quarters he scored the second against Roma to make it 2-0 in the first leg. Involved in the first aswell (released Scholes for Ronaldo's header  ).

06/07, 2 goals against Milan in the semi final first leg. Scored the only goal in the 2-1 defeat to Roma in the first leg of the quarters, before we won the second leg 7-1, where he scored the 3rd goal to make it 4-2 on agg and secure the result really.

Bit unfair to say he's never turned up.

From an non England fans point of view, I find it hilarious how theres always a poster boy for Englands miserable showing in major competitions. Was Beckham in 98 for getting sent off,

04 it was Rooney getting sent off, was Rooney last year too for swearing at the camera or something. Sven before that for bringing Walcott or something wasn’t it? Its amazing. It shows a total lack of understanding of the game and a total pig headed unwillingness to look facts in the face.

Per David Moyes:

“I didn’t think we should have had a penalty. I’ve no problems with the ref about that. I briefly saw the second incident again on TV and he just overran the ball.”

That'll be because it wasn't a foul. Just as Mensah's arm across Saurez wasn't a foul. Thereby proving that for an arm across to be deemed a foul there has to be an intention to gain an unfair advantage.

Now, somethings are subjective and don't have a definitive right or wrong, but some things - such as many of the rules of football - are beyond dispute and beyond interpretation.

Enjoyed the game yesterday, Utd dominated but I thought it was going to be one of those days again

I still can't see what Gibson adds to the team, his shooting has gone awful, he just doesn't look interested half the time

Hernandez on the other hand was once again brilliant, his movement off the ball was fantastic all day, he's just a joy to watch.

I haven't had chance to watch it in tv yet but I read somewhere about penalty claims for everton? They must have been in the second half because I can't recall anything, but I was up the other end.... Anything in them?

Here we go again....

The rule specifically relates to tactical reasons. Neither Ferdinand nor Mensah did it for tactical reasons.

Look at what I said:

''Thereby proving that for an arm across to be deemed a foul there has to be an intention to gain an unfair advantage''

It's similar to an unintentional handball. It's considered part of your body when there is no intention to block. It's only a foul when there is an intention to gain advantage or when the arm is in an unnatural position. Mensah was quite naturally jostling, just as Ferdinand was. The difference is that Suarez went down like a big girl and got him sent off. He should have been carded for trying to gain advantage.

Can't remember United having more than a handful of "those days" in the last twenty years.
