Im still waiting for you to explain that if Ashes cricket is pointless and meaningless, what does it say for professional scottish football that there were more people attending one day of one game at the cricket than the entire total of people who went to watch a professional scottish game (I say professional)added together.

The royal wedding will clearly be neither pointless nor meaningless. As a staunch republican, even I can see that. Your point about the cricket was that it was pointless and meaningless because of the numbers that took part in it. Are you now saying that isn't the case?

I posted about Marvin's stupidity last night.

I wasn't at that match, but I'm guessing he got boo-ed after putting in a lazy performance. He's not the most dynamic player even when he's scoring, and I guess that with the shots losing at home to Hereford - who were (are?) bottom of the league - the fans weren't too impressed by the non-efforts of the club's record signing.

I see today we've taken Liam Henderson on loan from your lot, I guess as Marvin's short term replacement. Anything you can tell me about him? Any good?

I wasn't being entirely serious - but then again, my statement is going to be nearer to the reality than what it was said in reply to. They'll end up finishing 8th I reckon, 7th if they're lucky.

I think NESV are desperate to find an excuse to keep Hodgson until the end of the transfer window, or at the very least until Kenny Dalglish is back in the country. If Liverpool avoid defeat against United there's no way he can be sacked for at least a few weeks.

But if he does go today, they can always appoint Lawrie Sanchez.
