Was it Rooney's people? How do you know?

While I'd say it's more likely to be Rooney's people, it could quite easily be Utd. The fact that they followed thru with a "let's slate Rooney" press conf gets to show there's issues here on both sides, for whatever reasons.

Doesn't matter if Fergie is truthful or an excuse for form/protection. Rooney has contradicted the manager and his methods regardless.

what you're saying here is that it's 100% ok for fergie to lie about rooney, but not OK in the slightest for rooney to tell the truth. ;)

Revenue growth per annum under the Glazers has been £120m. Not all can attributed to them obviously (stadium expansion signed off under the PLC, growing TV etc), but still a considerable amount.

Commercial has grown from £55m in 2006 to £81.4m in the recent accounts. Whilst that's the best in England on last accounts (Liverpool £68m, Chelsea £54m, Arsenal £44m), it pales compared to Bayern Munich's £136m, Madrids 119m or Barca £96m.

Glazers will see room for growth.

There's a limit to the growth of any business. Impressive growth over recent years means less ability to grow this year and in coming years.

Unless of course there's any yet-to-be-tapped income streams - which there don't appear to be.

And of course it's not Utd who are in sole control of whether they can grow or not - it's all dependent on others being both willing and able to hand them cash, something that is far harder in a recession both in the UK and around the world.

As I said, if he has no trust in the club, manager or players then he's best gone.

unless of course it's only him that's able to make the difference between on-the-field success or failure. Given the other players at the club, there's surely even a bit of overly-hopeful you (not meant as a knock, just how you are as a fan) that wonders if that might be the case.

For the people running the club, that's an even more important question. Get it wrong and Utd are f**ked for decades.

Chelsea will be interested for sure. Drogba and Anelka another year older. Where he goes rests on his family really. If still together with Colleen I can't see her wanting to leave her sister. London could be too far, given that I've read that she goes to see her at least 3 times a week.

I know nothing beyond her sister having a serious illness, but I'd wondered if in the mix is London being a better place for her to be treated/cared for.

Would negate any talk of "fresh start" though, playing at City instead of United isn't exactly a fresh start.

Oh c'mon - you'd consider a new job at a different company a fresh start. It's not any different for footballers.

Nothing in print no which is why I said "rumblings". :)Like this one

What I mean is that the press were ready to go on the story as they'd already done a bit of background work, talked about it, rumours etc.

nah, you've got that wrong. They'd dug as much as they could, and given up.

That's the sort of thing I spend a lot of every week doing. Just cos I hear something and might try chasing it down doesn't mean I keep at it when I hit a a dead end.

Yes, everyone did know. There are different degrees of injury. He has being carrying an injury, like he did at the end of last season.

yet it's funny how everyone has always known this - but only since yesterday.:lol:

We're losing sight of "why" though. Everything else is window dressing. Its down to Rooney. His bad. Hes been acting the complete bollox!! This is the only fact to be taken from all this so far. Well, that and that he wants to leave.

what's being lost is your perspective, nowt more.:lol:

If your words here were how Utd operates then Rooney would never be at Utd in the first place.

If every club operated how you're thinkiing it's right for Rooney to now be considered then organised football would fall apart in a matter of weeks. "Player wants to leave club" is nothing new you know. It's how Rooney ended up with you in the first place. ;)

FFS Neil. Talk about Mr Pedantic. "They contacted each other at the exact same time". Is that ok? It doesnt matter who contacted who first, the talks were pre arranged by both parties. But it was Rooneys crew who informed Utd that Rooney was off.

nope, it's not me being pedantic, it's me trying to get thru to you that you're being somewhat ridiculous.

I'll say it again: "player wants to leave club" is nothing new you know. It's how Rooney ended up with you in the first place.

As I said, fergie's words yesterday were about getting the fans to turn on Rooney. Job well done fergie.

Rooney to make a statement at some stage today!!

that'll be interesting. :)

This is f**king madness is he does that! I hope he does but as I said, he needs to make amends somehow.

I'm tired of this already. Dunno how you lasted that week in f**king court with the Pool chief.....

Regardless of the reasons or truth of that. Rooney publically contradicted the Manager and his Methods.

ahhh, sorry, I hadn't realised that Utd only had brainless fools on their books.

I guess that's why Rooney wants out, he's too intelligent for the club.:lol::P

It wouldn't. If Rooney has no trust in the squad (and visa versa) then forget it. Equally if Rooney doesn't want to pull on the shirt, then forget it. He won't make the difference if his mindset is like that and will do more damage.

I'd prefer Hernandez who's by no means the finished article but looks absolutely delighted, overjoyed and grateful that he's playing for Manchester United and Fergie.

I love you Utd fans. Club integrity is more important that trophies and club financial survival.

Did you also know that I keep a flying pig as a pet?

A little, but not so much if driving the same way to training each day (both training grounds in carrington).

Eh? Have you never had two jobs in the same town, and think no one else has either?:lol:

To be honest aswell - and I hope nothing of the sort happens - but I wouldn't want to aggrieve half a city in so doing increase the risk to the security of my family.

You Utd fans are such lovely people, it makes me wonder why any player would ever want to leave.:lol:

eh?

he's put an icepack on his ankle after coming off against Bolton, he came off after doing his ankle against Rangers and confirmed it in an interview afterwards. Fergie called him out on it a couple weeks ago saying he'd hidden the extent of his injury and how he always wants to play etc. He ruled him out for 3 weeks end of Sept.

I'm not denying he's had injuries or an injury. I'm disputing the claim that "everyone always knew he was still injured". It's bollocks.

*Neil presses reset on his brain and switches into full ABU mode*

Neil presses the sense button, and shows utd fans up for being the ridiculous beings they always show themselves as being. :)

It's fine for Utd to recruit traitors, but dare a utd player ever become a traitor then the fans will kill their family.

That's what you and ralph have managed to say in your last few posts.

If you don't like me pointing that to you, then don't post it. Don't even fecking think it. :)

Oh f**k off Neil. You've interpreted my words to the extreme, so you're the one whos "fecking thinking it". All I said was that there'd be an increase to the risk to the family that would be a consideration to me if I was in his shoes. An intruder similar to Alex Gerrard etc could arise, someone smashing a window, defacing a car etc.

Equally I said, I hoped it wouldn't happen.

Ridiculous beings indeed. <_<

ralph, I wasn't suggesting that you personally would do such a thing. I took you at your word.

But you DID suggest that it might happen from pissed off Utd fans. I was working off that ONLY.

(and robberies of Liverpool players' homes, while bad, are nowhere near to that).

No less ridiculous is The Nal's posts of how Rooney is an unforgivable traitor - yet he seems to have forgotten that nearly the whole Utd squad (just as with every other pro club's squad) are that, including Rooney when he joined Utd. ;)

PS: Nal seems to have heard fergie's words in the same context as I did - "everyone turn on Rooney". ;)

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
