You what?

The likes of Arsenal have an allure that attracts players that kick the ball and not other players - the sorts of players who'd be less attracted to the clubs with overly-large heads. ;)

As for the last para .... pleeeeeaaaaaase! If the money part is true, why do such clubs *ALWAYS* need to compete on wages? If the no-trophies part is true, well .... the proof of that is going to be made clear pretty soon.

It's all made clear by the many players who've turned Utd down over the years. Yes fergie, it's happened, and quite a lot - I guess your memory is similar to Wenger's eye-sight.

Rooney's agent (along with all of his "profession") is the real enemy here. Dreadful leech.

As for Alec. Well chief, live by the sword die by the sword. Your days are numbered guv.

Two of the three Utd fans in my work suggest that Ferg should be the one to leave the club on this occasion. A minute sample of course but telling.

Who would that be then? Don't count your chickens...

Oh sorry, I was mistaken in thinking that Chelsea won the league last year, my error.:lol::lol:

As for Shitty, they're gonna finish above Utd this year, tho they probably won't win the league (tho I'm not going to say they won't). But that's merely this year.

It's something you're going to have to get more and more used to ... tho I guess the emus might not have grasped it yet.

Fair enough but that is a different allure isn't it. Yet also one that has nothing to do with money and trophies.

it's the allure of a club for players, a club someone (you?) said didn't have any allure.

what does that mean?

it means that the bollocks some spout puts some players off as well as attracting some.

(You seem to be generating a lot of html <br>'s in your posts - what's all that about)

Thanks, but I'm not seeing them - I guess it's a glitch that's effecting just you.

so basically, everyone thinks chelsea have the league in the bag? and people say that the spl is predictable :P

I don't think Chelsea have it in the bag (tho I'd rate them favourites to win).

If you look back on their seasons in recent years they've started extremely strongly so that in October most people are thinking they have it wrapped up, but then their form has fallen away to an extent (to the extent of Scolari getting sacked one year - a year when they'd had a start no less good than they've had this year).

I'd say it's between Chelsea, Shitty, Arsenal and Utd - in that order.

But it's extremely difficult to know how things might pan out at Utd. This Rooney thing could break them or make them. But I think more important to Utd right now than Rooney is Valencia.

Ah come on, I thought this was a City attack!

No, it was a Utd attack. :P

I wasn't talking just about Shitty. It's getting more competitive at the top, and the result is fewer trophies in Salford.

Put your neck on the line. City will not win the league this season.

As I say, I don't think they will, but I'm not so foolish to write them off completely.

But if your so certain that Shitty won't win the league, then surely you're even more certain that Utd won't? :P

i'd probably say it's a two horse between chelsea and man city.

arsenal will have more west brom games in them i think. and will struggle in the head to heads.

and just can't see a consistent man utd happening with all this going on.

if man city are still in it and sign a happy wayne rooney in january, then things could get very interesting :)

while I suspect you're right, it's possible that they might pick up from their iffy start if/when their injured come back and if they don't get further injuries.

Don't forget that they've not had their best player available for around a month, plus they've been missing other important players. So far it's looking like yet another season where injuries might scupper any chance they might have of winning the league.

(note the 'might', before anyone starts)

Not without Rooney's form picking up it won't. :P

From the Beeb:

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has said the club have had no contact with want-away Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

"There has been no contact. He's a great player but it's not my problem. I'm concentrating on tomorrow's match [against Lech Poznan]," stated Mancini. "He is an important player for United and I think he will stay," added Mancini. "I have respect for him, for Ferguson, for United. I want to speak only about my players."

He looked a little, emmm, distracted, though.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
