They do it by keyhole now - as long as you don't get the wound infected you'll be OK in plenty of time. My mate was back at work, if still a little sore, after a week.

Just make sure you follow the cleaning instructions absolutely to the letter because an infection is nasty.

I got appendicitis exactly a week before my wedding last year, I went into hospital on the friday night and my operation was 2AM Sunday.

I had keyhole and made it through my wedding the following friday fine, but with the help of quite a lot of painkillers mixed with alcohol that they shouldn't have been mixed with. Probably put back my recovery a week or so, but 3 weeks after the operation I was pretty much back to normal, just a little tenderness where the scars where. Couldn't wear a belt, probably couldn't do high impact sports or dance, but could defiantly handle walking distances.

You'll be fine if you have keyhole, however this isn't a grantee and they don't know if they're going to have to open you up till they go in and see how bad your Appendix is infected.

If they open you up I would say it would be touch and go, you could probably make it, but I'd say you would struggle to keep your wounds properly clean at the festival, which could result in things much worse than the original appendicitis.

Chin Up dude.... Get well, dont worry and your be bouncing about the Stone circle as if nothing had happened! :):)

I have three hospital appointments before the big G one of which will result in me spending a little time in, but I am not worried as although there is nastiness involved its for the greater good of my Glasto experience and in fact it is needed!

No hospital no big G...

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
    • I was fully prepared (waterproof jacket, extra pair of socks, foldable umbrella), but after four hours in the rain (from Geese through Oklou to Florence Road), it was just too much. Already at the hotel, let's hope tomorrow's better.
