all they need to do now is ask Gruff Rhys to guest with them on Superfast Jellyfish. With the hope that'll lead to a 'surprise/special guest' SFA set somewhere... :P

do they really play about with their characters on stage these days?

i thought the whole point of therir live show now was that they're trying to phase out the characters and make it apparent that it's a full band of actual people (hense the O2 advert with the band walking past the characters who aren't being let through)

Damon Albarn on getting Lou Reed to appear at Glastonbury:

He added: "It's definitely magic in so many ways. I just hope we can convince Lou Reed and he grasps that it's a real privilege to get the chance to do it. Then we'd have a complete house and that really would be amazing."

This has great implications for some unannounced "secret" gigs elsewhere on the site. I can't imagine De La Soul coming all that way to perform with Gorillaz without doing a De La set somewhere on site (maybe Park Stage). Definitely going to have to keep an ear to the ground...

I just hope they move Mos Def's set alltogether. I can't see it happening, but I'd be gutted to miss the Gorillaz set, and there's no way I'm missing Mos Def with a full live band. I already anticipate Miss Fat Booty being one of the high points of the weekend.

Bring it on!

Mike Smith - Keyboards

Jesse Hackett - Keyboards

Paul Simonon - Bass

Cass Browne - Drums

Damon Albarn - Guitar, Piano, Vocals

Gabriel Wallace - Drums

Jeff Wootton - Guitar (He's the guitarist from Liam Gallagher's new band)

Mick Jones - Rhythm Guitar

Plus strings

Ah k, I realise it was a couple of lines, but thought maybe he contributed something musically since his vocal contribution is so minimal

So Little Dragon will be opening for Scissor Sisters in Birmingham on the 25th, but their facebook says:

Hello Friends,

We are proud to announce our new dates where we will be supporting Scissor Sisters in the UK and a couple shows in europe this summer

******

We will also be joining Gorillaz at a couple festivals, Glastonbury § Roskilde Festival. Oh and by the way Prince is playing Roskilde this year and it would be a bitter shame to miss him.

we will be dancing in the front

Enter the rainbow my friends

peace and love forever

Bashy and Kano are both decent UK Grime artists. Kano's probably most famous for duetting with Craig David on This Is The Girl, which went to No. 1. Bashy did the theme tune to Adulthood, called Kidulthood to Adulthood and is currently appearing in theatre and has been in quite a few films and things like that.

I think if Little Dragon went on in Birmingham about 6, they could make it to Glasto for Gorillaz set.

Doors open at 6:30, Little Dragon on at sometime between 7:30-8. Hmm, how long would it take to get from the venue to a helicopter and the helicopter to get to the fest? Sounds like a lot of trouble and expense for a two-song guest. But then again, it is a headlining set...

No idea why they aren't already doing their own set at Glasto :P

The Gorillaz gig from the Roundhouse is on MTV HD at the moment, and again on another MTV channel at 11:00. It really looks and sounds amazing and really has me excited about seeing them, which is especially pleasing as I was gutted about U2 pulling out.

mos def, snoop dogg and hypnotic brass ensemble will be with them as guest performers...

http://www.nme.com/news/gorillaz/51359

Gorillaz's cartoon bassist and spokesperson Murdoc alluded in an interview with NME that Snoop may be sticking around to join them.

When asked who he wanted to see at the festival, his reply read: "Snoop Dogg, Mos Def and The Hypnotic Brass. But then I can watch them with us when we play… maybe."

Lou Reed was on triple j (aus radio) the other day and said something along the lines on 'its a long way to go for one song, i don't think so' when he was asked about collaborating with the gorillaz at glasto, so i think you can pretty much rule him out.
