David Gilmour

I would absolutely love David Gilmour to be asked to step in and headline. He asked to play back in 2008 but was rejected by Michael Eavis, surely his time has come. Any possibility he will be asked? The suggestions so far seem to be 'unsurprising' (coldplay etc) as U2 were such a major surprise I am sure he would create the same effect and would be an epic headliner. He is probably still bitter over his rejection a few years back

Oh Christ, here it comes.

Take a breath

Take a deep breath now

Take a breath

A deep breath now

Take a breath

I just cannot see this happening at all, even though it would be a dream come true.

Now I'd really like this, and even more so if Mr.Bowie were to tag along again ... but I can't see that's it's seriously going to happen any time soon ! Apart from anything else, I get the distinct impression that Mr.Gilmour doesn't exactly forget issues various and almost certainly hasn't got a reputation for being a kiss and make up kinda guy either :P Any potential hatchet needing to buried is perhaps more likely to end up in someone's back rather than anywhere else I would imagine ! Having been effectively turned down when kinda looking for a slot at short notice in 2008 and allegedly being way more than a bit p!$$ed off over what was a perfectly reasonable decision at the time, I can't honestly see him jumping at an offer to play even if one was made can you ?

Indeed but potentially also with Ray Davies on Sunday for a Sunny Afternoon of course :P

I would still put money on an appearance somewhere anyway regardless of official denials and those are by far the most likely guest spots I think. No matter what, I shall be very much enjoying both in any case but a surprise special guest would defo be totally brilliant :P

:P Theres already going be a better version on saturday evening before the headliners :P

Sorry that was a poor atempt at a joke, and I in no way believe that statement, I think this is my fav suggestion of acts to replace u2 and a legend that could be able doable?

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
    • Yup and they aren't all going to get them, some are going to miss out. Speaking of this, I met someone at RIP who went to RFP and his view was band wise it's value for money but it wasn't a festival itself he'd be rushing to return to. In fairness as well he probably liked more of the headliners there than me this year whereas I was more undercard and he wasn't returning.
    • Maybe Starmer's legacy will be a war with Russia.
    • How were GnR? Seen some videos and pictures and let's just say, the crowd to the sides at the front and in front of the sound tents were let's just say... Sparse compared to LB.
