Looks well bl**dy expensive to me - £4 for 3/4 pint of recycled p!$$ :P I know it was way back in 2006 but I don't remember paying anywhere near that kinda premium for several most excellent full pints of Ale courtesy of that jolly fine chap Mr.Woodeforde at the first Hyde Park Calling. That's the only London 'festival' I've ever attended but excellent service, excellent ale and very reasonably priced I thought at the time given a captive audience in the centre of London situation - I was *very* pleasantly surprised at not being totally and unmercilessly ripped off it has to be said. I've certainly never paid what amounts to £5 a pint anywhere in Town even in recent times either and that's for a decent pint, not some watered down p!$$ ! Sure, London prices in general are expensive but that's just taking the p!$$ I reckon, significantly less than that for pub prices ... providing you choose your pub sensibly of course.

:P all that fine ale bigdrink.gif

And just look at the scorched grass/earth ! Was it scorchio hot or was it unbelievably scorchio hot :P Apart from a few acts on the Main Stage (Roger Waters and The Who of course plus a couple of others) I spent most of the time round by the 2nd stage and bandstand where it was just slightly cooler with a bit of shade ! Some good stuff on the 2nd stage. In fact the whole 'festival' was significantly better in absolutely all respects to what I expected from what is really just a big gig in the park. If it didn't clash horribly with Glasto then I'd have gone to more of them TBH, really enjoyed it.

Sorry to hear you were having a few probs at the time mind you :P and didn't spot you lurking at the back somewhere but defo top marks for bar service and ale quality

Holy crap. Despite having a pretty boss line-up (Down, Clutch, Black Label Society, High On Fire, Opeth, Venom, Orange Goblin... Truly awesome stuff), I'm glad I never decided to bother with this... It'd cost SO much to get drunk. Would have to get pretty stoned instead, but good line-up to do that to...

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
