Just a few questions regarding the above bands...

1. would it be possible to see Editors AND Muse? acording to clashfinder there's not much time between Editors finishing on the Other stage and Muse starting on the Pyramid.

2. The National, I keep reading rave reviews about this band, and wanna have a listen to what they're all about, any recomendations where to start?

Realistically if you want to get a good spot for Muse you're going to have to miss most of editors. If you're happy to be back by the sound desk then just leave a few songs before the end (although personally I always find that quite unsatisfying.)

The National are an incredible band. Start with Boxer, then Alligator but make sure you also listen to their new record High Violet which is just as good as the other two in my opinion.

I was by the sound desk for Blur last year and had a great time. Good spot, sound was great, big screen nearby, near enough to pick out the band on stage but far enough away that you had room to dance and bounce about. Thinking that will be my spot for Muse too. Probably give Editors a miss this time around seeing as they appear to have forgotten where their guitars are, but the National are a must-see.

I assume Editors will clash with most of Laura Marling - I'll need to check out their most recent albums and take a view before seeing Midlake. Editors are normally very good live (but I've seen them 3 times I think) but I've hardly listened to their 3rd album.

The National were absolutely amazing at the Royal Albert Hall last Thursday. Really wish I was down in the Stalls (although everyone stood from the 3rd song onwards) instead of a tiny 2nd tier box but the performance was brilliant, as was the sound mix despite some negative comments about the RAH. I'm expecting them to be a highlight of the weekend. I'd recommend listening to Boxer/High Violet first, then Alligator and if you like those Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers and Cherry Tree are great too.

I'd pretty much go with that. Boxer is my favourite but the other 2 are definitely not far behind. I couldnt really choose between high violet and alligator. High Violet will only get better with more listens I agree. I do like their other albums but for me they are inferior to the 3 mentioned here.

I am really really looking forward to them, I just hope the other stage isnt too big for their sound.

I think the Nationals first two albums are okay, but not great- however I really like the EP they did after them- 'Cherry Tree'- I like every song on that disc. Hmm... I think Alligator is probably easier to get into than Boxer is for a first time listener- Although i love Boxer now, I remember feeling quite disappointed when i heard Boxer for the first time, and it took me months to get into!

THEY ROCKED IT !!!!!

The lead singer has soooo much energy, brilliant live - so unexpected :P

I too would recommend Alligator as their finest, particularly Mr November - the best song of the gig last week.

...as for The Editors, saw them at Glasto a couple of years ago and was disappointed - it all began to sound the same after about 3 songs !

      I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer

      That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.

      Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
