94 was just epic full stop...

Was there for Inspiral Carpets but missed everything else as I was waisted and went to crash at the Pyramid... ended up right on the barrier for Peter Gabriel at which point my life changed for the second time in two days...

It was a brilliant 4 days for me and moulded my entire musical life since...

Me and my mate spent the entire day on that stage, sadly i can only say i was there, cant remember a bloody thing about it. Can still picture sitting on the grass watching the different bands. Just memory fade, no other out of mind reason. Had read a few lines in the Glastonbury mag about some band called Oasis and thought we would check them out and had seen Chumbawamba at a Hawkwind Brixton gig beforehand.

wish id been going in the earlier days, that line up would be tremendous. As ever it would only be a few years down the line that you'd appreciate how successful the line up would become.

There for those two. Had eaten something tasty before Blur, so that by the end of their set was very much enjoying how the crowd were singing along to them. Then down the front for Spiritualized, monged along, and quite unable to engage jaw muscles afterwards with friend who had consumed same as me and was consequently similarly consumed. Happy Days

That day everyone there knew Oasis would be huge, their presence was amazing, I thought there was about 2000 people there, but I have seen a video on you tube and the crowd was massive. I didn't know any of their songs but you felt like you could sing along to them even then.

My memory is hazy but pretty sure Oasis were on before Echobelly, Echobelly already had an album out and were pretty big in the indie circles. Of course that was before britpop really got going and blur and oasis changed everything.

crowd was pretty big for Oasis as I recall , Blur were de facto headliners IMO - crowd thinned out a bit for spirtualized

Friday Pyramid 1997 was pretty epic too I thought. Beck was superb for one...

Wasnt Nelly Furturdo on that day too? Never could figure that one out. Beck was brilliant standing there and taking all the mud being hurled at him

The whole of 1994 was amazing in every way...apart from possibly the Spin Doctors on the Pyramid...but then again most people were probably watching the Beastie Boys on the NME Stage at the same time.

Just wish I could have been there myself. But Channel 4 did do an absolutely sterling job of making it feel as if you were there even if only watching through the telly pictures I camped in my bedroom that year...just to drop the hint to my mother that she has seriously f**ked up by not letting me go cos she was 'worried' about me being there at age 16. BIG MISTAKE! AM still paying her back for that one and havent ever forgiven her for that order.

AND she still isnt happy I go...16 years on and certainly not planning on stopping any time soon.

Was hoping the 40th Anniversary might reflect the mid 90s a bit more but its not such an issue.

My god, the spin doctors were awesome, well actually know they wern't.

I can't recall any other bands that whole weekend other than on that day at the NME stage

Who else played ?

It was also beautiful weather the whole weekend and so was 95.

The NME Stage on Friday in 92 was pretty wonderful. As far as I my drug-addled memory of the day goes the line up looked something like this:

Back To The Planet

The Mooflowers

Senser

Dr Phibes

Flowered Up (Weekender being the perfect tune for a perfect day I recall)

Jah Wobble (with Sinead O'Connor as a guest)

The Orb

Primal Scream.

Bloody lovely and the sun shone for the whole weekend. Plus once the bands has finished you knew that the real partying was only just starting. None of this everyone queueing down the railway track to get into Trash City/Arcadia/Shangri-La nonsense, the whole site was one big party after hours.
