I met Ryan Jarman from The Cribs on saturday. Kate Nash's side-project band 'The Receders' played before my band at one of our gigs, and ryan happened to be there. I was chatting to him for ages about many subjects but i did mention festivals and Glastonbury. He said he believes his people are in talks with Glasto's people.. Thought id let you know. great guy, great band

Great band would love to see them there, have seen them 7 times now and have only let me down once.......at Glasto '08 (I think) headlining the John Peel on Fri night, a real lacklustre performance with no atmosphere at all.....

They're definitely playing, I interviewed Johnny Marr for a University assignment and he said "I'm very proud to have played there, and I'm very proud to be playing there again this summer with the Cribs"

Incidentally, were you able to keep a straight face while talking to him? I wouldn't be able, his tones are hilarious!

Nah. But theyre U2 Ivan. The Cribs' new record with Marr was supposed to be the biz. They spent a tonne of cash recording it in the States and its turned out to be pish.

Now if Covers has offered to play chez Ivan then color me impressed. The Jarman brothers not so much.

I really like the new album, definitely an improvement on the previous one. Not quite up to the standards of the first two but not far off.

If they play, I'll be there. Getting close to the 30th anniversary gig now :P

Gonna have to disagree with that! The lads have far more original influences than your typical Libertines influenced indie band. They'll sight the likes of Edwyn Collins, riot grrrl bands and obscure post-punk acts. They've also been making music since before anyone had particularly heard of the Libertines as well.

I've seen them 10 times and Glasto 08 was my least favourite as well. However, this mainly because some of the crowd seemed a little disinterested and the sound in the John Peel tent was rubbish.

But yeah. great band
