I can't believe what I'm hearing - such a loss of faith - especially you Katster, who's been on these boards for almost as long as I have I think.

Yes, there are always new experiences out there, but isn't Glasto just that something special, like a book that can't be put down. I think it changes enough each year to keep even the longest attendees still interested as well. And isn't some of its charm also down to going back and seeing those familiar streets and events again each year, magically recreated where there was nowt before.

I blame it on the lack of official line-up - when this arrives I'm confident the faith will return . . .

I will return, I haven't lost my faith completely. I'd just like to try something new this year, there'd be no point in forcing myself to go when my heart just isn't in it, if anything that would make me worse, as I'd notice even more all that I feel is bad about the festival.

err 2002 isnt really that many glastonburys. Why on earth would people turn to you for advice on where to go and what to do? I simply dont believe that just because you've been to glastonbury 6 times or whatever people are asking you what bands they should see? The festival in 2002 was nothing at all like the festival in the 90s. In my eyes you are still a newb, dont worry about that.

I have been since the 90s and I keep going. The commercalisation is annoying, as is the increase in the posh 6th form kids and when these things become intolerable I will quit. It's perfectly reasonable for people to think like this. The festival is nothing like it used to be, and much of it has changed for the worse.

She wants to try something else for a while, but she'll be back because even though she wants to try something else deep down she says she still feel a deep love. I know she's been flirting with other things in the past, Bearded Theory and the like, but this is jus difficult to take this time. It's like she's saying it's not good enough and she wants to try out all these other things.

If I was Glasto, I wouldn't have her back. I'd make a big scene, a big song and dance and throw her tent out of Pedestrian Gate A, whilst a friend tells me I'm too good for her anywhere, and after ten minutes at V, she'll be back on her knees begging me to let her in.

It's more than most people I know, and it's more than any of the people I go with. People don't ask me which bands to see, that's down to personal choice, it's more the stuff you do after the bands.

Have you been every year since the 90's or have you too had years off when you haven't been?

Yes I have missed some years, when unavoidable events have occured though and never through choice. And the year you return is always great. Maybe a year off will do you good, you will go back the year after with renewed vigour.

And there is loads of choice of good festivals these days (though V is NOT one of them!)
