P.s Sorry if this is a repeat couldn't find anything similar!!

I'm old enough to remember the winter of discontent, the horrors of the Thatcher years, the joy of change in 97, and look where it got us.

I have always maintained that everyone should vote, or at least register their feelings on polling day, even if that means drawing a big cock on your ballot paper, but this time...f**k knows. I've never been more despondant about our politicians than I am now. We've never had less choice about the way we are governed. And sadly, it's our own fault.

This'll be the first year i'll be able to vote ( :P ) and it's gonna have to be Liberal. I live in Bath and i'm fairly certain we've had the same Liberal MP for pretty much the whole of my life. Who needs change, aye?!

Speaking of good old Don Foster, he wandered past me and my friends a few weeks ago while we were in the queue for a night club...was very disorientating, the last time i'd seen him in person i was about 6 and he was doing an assembly at my primary school.

I have no idea who to vote for, or whether to bother at all. I don't know enough about different parties to make a proper decision.

The way I see it is they are all smarmy gits who talk out of their arses and will say anything to get the public onside. I even got a birthday card last year from my local labour MP because I turned 18 :P

Shame on the people who aren't voting for anyone. That's how the BNP got into European parliament. The same number of idiots voted for them, it's just that the voting turn out was so bad that the votes they got were enough this time. That's my first point: just vote! Even a vote for the Tories would be better than not voting at all!!!!!!! There must be one party you'd prefer to get a seat more than the BNP.

Secondly, i hope people vote for labour. If you're working class and you're voting for the Tories you're a fool. Do you remember what they did to us last time they were in? Labour has done a lot for us and the Tories will send all that to pot. They'll screw the workers over again just like they did to the miners. Labour won't be perfect, but who else can you vote for? A vote for the Lib Dems or the Green Party is essentially a vote for the Tories.

So, to summarise:

1. Vote! Make sure the BNP don't get a foot in the door.

2. If you're going to vote sensibly, vote Labour.

Thanks :P

Labour took us into an unjustified illegal war, I know elections are won on domestic policies, (how else could they have got back in!!!!!), but I dont forget, all those brave British (and other nations) soldiers dead, lets face it for oil money. The then labour leader:Blair just as good as pulled the trigger on death of Dr David Kelly.

As I say elections are won on domestic policy, the above facts are not under dispute, but it does not matter because its consequences were in a far off land. Unless of course your son or daughter or relative is a dead soldier. I dont know any dead soldiers so no direct consequences for me, but I wont forget.

Voted in the poll "Not at all, whats the bloomin point?" However I would vote for the liberal democrats, but I disagree so strongly with proportional representation (PR), that I could not bring myself to do it.

thats why i love this site, it is a kind of follow on to Glasto, that we can have political debates/topics discussed. Its not all about what Brandon Flowers suit jacket will look like this year...or whatever

    • My wife works for a music company, they have an allocation already.  They run a ballot for it early next year.
    • This is my guess too.    2028 festival breaks the £400 barrier.
    • Yeah I did spot that AXS had more available for the O2 shows Muse are doing, though I think that comes with the territory of AXS now being the venue's primary ticket selling platform.    My instinct remains they'll probably still play to a big crowd on the night - sales were similarly slow in 2023 but videos of those gigs showed the venue looking pretty much full. Equally it probably would be sold out if the pricing was even just slightly less ridiculous. Shave up to £50 off some of these categories and I think that would've got people to go with it.
    • Some are definitely already there with that and with another round of inflation looking like it's on the way, it certainly locks that in. And I say that as someone who also isn't willing to break the £100 marker.
    • A lot of people have said this online but does the Marvel world need new cities to play with? New York seems to be a target of all the villains to the point where you wonder why anyone in that world still lives there. Much as you can accuse me of overthinking it I guess haha.    I do agree that The Void is a compellingly different villain in many respects given the superpower is trapping people in their most traumatic memories. Shame in some respects the film came out in the post-Endgame funk Marvel seems stuck in and a lot of people missed out on it.    Speaking of, I rewatched Infinity War the other day. First time I think I've seen it since seeing it in the cinema on its opening day. Holds up pretty well imo - I have issues sometimes with ensemble casts and jumping between 4/5 storylines but it felt this one got the balance right and also properly explored Thanos. So it was good.
